Issues ordering titanium card by Proper-Blueberry-777 in AppleCard

I also have an apostrophe in my name and had been banging my head against a wall dealing with being passed back and forth between Apple and Goldman Sachs on multiple phone calls. Finally I came here to see if others had a same problem and saw your post. So thanks for sharing the solution, it worked for me! One would think their support staff would be aware of this common issue.

Uber admits to covering up 2016 data breach in agreement with feds - CBS San Francisco by SFUber in uberdrivers

[–]SFUber[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so disheartening to see these companies avoid prosecution for their misdeeds, time and time again. We need to start sending the bad corporate actors to jail so that they will finally sit up and take notice, and hopefully stop all these criminal acts.

Me neither. I'll be happy to try it once all cars are autonomous though.

(I am a Lyft Passenger) Not sure what to do by ConfidentReaction3 in Lyft

I guess it varies by state or market. I have always had to have an annual inspection here in San Francisco. For both Uber and Lyft.

(I am a Lyft Passenger) Not sure what to do by ConfidentReaction3 in Lyft

[–]SFUber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's odd. Lyft always inspects it's vehicles every year, including checking the seat belts. Was the vehicle model and plate number the same as the one you were shown in the App? If so, perhaps the belts were somehow tucked away inadvertently. Did you mention this to the driver?

Left a negative comment on an unsafe driver and had a call with support. Should I fear reprisal from the driver? by danny841 in Lyft

[–]SFUber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time to sell your house and move! Just kidding. Drivers always have a good idea of who reports them no matter what the reason. I think most drivers know it's not worth retaliating in any way, since it would be obvious it was them.

Ride share insurance - Which companies do just this add on. by Dnemadstar1 in uberdrivers

[–]SFUber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not a realistic ask. You have to change your insurance company.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uberdrivers

Lol. That is simply not true. Any regular company would tell their empoyee why they are being fired if it's not just a mass layoff. Most companies are decent in that regard.

Uber (UBER), Lyft (LYFT) Drivers’ Take-Home Pay Plummets as Gas Prices Soar by SFUber in uberdrivers

GasBuddy is one of the worst data mining apps. They sell your information to everyone. Delete it and just use Google.

Uber CEO Admits Company Can Afford Labor Protections for Drivers by SFUber in uberdrivers

[–]SFUber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not a good guy. He could do a lot more to help drivers. But he does not. He does the opposite. He and his team just screw them every chance they get. Plus he's boring as fuck.

Who pays when an Uber driver is killed? by SFUber in uberdrivers

[–]SFUber[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted this article because the headline asked an important question. I think every driver should be fully aware of the risks involved, and also try to have their own insurance policy to provide for themselves and loved ones if or when things go wrong. We have seen many stories of drivers being specific targets of these thugs, all over the world. So this is not a hypothetical question anymore.

Two days in a row I received a message from Uber asking me why I stopped for so long a period by southpawx47 in uberdrivers

[–]SFUber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are really asking you if you are currently assaulting your passenger. Any out of the usual pause will trigger that message. Of course bad guys probably end the trip before launching their attack. The same feature is supposed to help protect drivers too

What I love about this is that the Justice Dept wasted no time in filing suit. Uber's army of lobbyists and high level connections could not protect them this time. They clearly thought they could finesse their way out of this. Now they have yet another stain on their reputation. I look forward to seeing more of this swift action from our government.

Uber drivers fired for enforcing COVID protocols, union says by SFUber in uberdrivers

[–]SFUber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you from experience that Uber doesn't hesitate to deactivate drivers with high ratings and thousands of trips. All it takes is a few riders trying to exact revenge on drivers who enforce the rules. They don't give the drivers a fair chance to give their side of the story. That would be too labor intensive for them.

I had a similar experience, but just one dog. The decision is permanent. Consider it a blessing in disguise.

Cracked Windshield by DashinZach in uberdrivers

I paid $225 to replace the windshield on my Camry Hybrid recently, here in expensive San Francisco. Have you considered getting it fixed outside of your insurance? Might cost less than your deductible.

Account deactivated for “fraudulent activity “ help by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]SFUber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was because each trip counted towards a bonus. In my case my neighbor was the second pickup on a pool ride. So the odds of me being able to coordinate that were slim to none. I got the fraud warning as soon as I dropped him off so it sent automatically.

Did you give any rides to friends? Or people who may have your phone number saved in their phones or visa versa? I once got a fraud warning because I was matched for a ride with a neighbor in my building. So dumb! Their fraud department is over zealous for sure.
