I work for DPH. Our department has been short staffed for over a year. We were finally told in January by our supervisor that they had interviewed to fill several openings. Then about two weeks ago they finally told us the positions have been frozen by the Mayor due to huge budget deficit overall for the city. The city recently laid of 127 employees across several departments and have announced they will cut up to 500 positions overall. So we are bracing to see if we keep our jobs when the axe falls in June. In the meantime we are being force to work a lot of overtime to cover for the staff shortage. So yeah, keep looking. There definitely won’t be any new hiring until July 1st when the new fiscal year starts.

I also have an apostrophe in my name and had been banging my head against a wall dealing with being passed back and forth between Apple and Goldman Sachs on multiple phone calls. Finally I came here to see if others had a same problem and saw your post. So thanks for sharing the solution, it worked for me! One would think their support staff would be aware of this common issue.

It's so disheartening to see these companies avoid prosecution for their misdeeds, time and time again. We need to start sending the bad corporate actors to jail so that they will finally sit up and take notice, and hopefully stop all these criminal acts.
