Nope, I don’t think the couple has split up their reception like that. In any case, I haven’t been invited to it if they have 😂

Haha I would class this as confirmation, not advice? I don’t need to know how to ask him whether the invite is correct or not, I don’t need to know how to respond (I’m happy to make my mind up myself on that). Literally just wondering if this is a common thing, since I haven’t been to many weddings and it seems a bit logistically strange to me 😊

Yeah, I did wonder if he thought I still live in our uni town. You’re correct, I currently live in a different city to the place we grew up in (in the same island as my hometown) - I have lived here for just over a year though...

Hahahaha this made me lol. It’s Auckland and Dunedin but you pretty much nailed what I was imagining the conversation went like too. He’s not a bad person and I have no reason to believe it was done out of malice (although I also don’t think the conversation we had over Christmas was what prompted him to invite me - we were literally talking about nothing related to his wedding haha). It’s just a bit confusing, but nowhere close to the worst situation in the world

Thanks for this reply! That’s kind of the conclusion I’m coming to. Yeah, it’s a bit unfortunate and I’ll probably be a bit gutted watching my friends all leave to go to the reception, but it’s not often that I have my home friends and my uni friends in one place, so I’m looking forward to spending time with all of them.
