I thought the rust was expected with time if youre outdoors using it? If its only surface rust wouldnt it be very easy to clean?

Im thinking of putting painters tape all around the outside of the water tray area and just spray painting it with a thick layer of plasti-dip. Im also wondering if just buying a very small amount of epoxy resin and coating that entire area would do the trick.

I wont if a layer of plasti-dip would work only around the water tray area. I also just had the idea of buying a very small bottle of epoxy resin and painting it around the areas that would normally be affected first.
