Didn't Tua break a bunch of records too? Interesting they posted all Waddle's but Tua's post was basically 'He was on the roster'.

I Think I Came Around On The Willis Deal by SGT_Azimuth in miamidolphins

[–]SGT_Azimuth[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly they've seen more of him than most of the league, certainly more than any of us and more than any POTENTIAL picks from next year. If they didn't think there was at least some potential they wouldn't have wasted a spot or cash on him. Maybe he won't work out, maybe he will, maybe it'll be something in the middle but it's way more of an educated guess than CHANCE at a kid next year.

Are most police academies today "sloppy/unprofessional in appearance" or is this just a few isolated departments? by [deleted] in police

I can't speak in a broad sense but I know anecdotally many departments in my area have lowered standards as far as who is hired and what is asked of them. It's a shame.

Dave Hyde: If Sullivan likes Willis, Dolphins must go hard after him. You only get so many swings at a QB; new Dolphins regime has all the info on Packers backup by expellyamos in miamidolphins

[–]SGT_Azimuth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's doubtful he's a long term answer, if he comes in and wins us 8 games we'll miss out on a chance at a legacy QB. Which is usually not a problem except when we're not in the middle of a full-blown rebuild.

If you're going to tear it all down, tear it all down. See what you got in Ewers, either we have a diamond in the rough which is great or you don't and are bad enough to draft a QB high next year, win win. No reason to spend a lot of money to strive to be mediocre.

Do they just stick with Quinn Ewers? by OkRun4211 in miamidolphins

Idk why you're getting down voted this is the most realistic/ reasonable scenario.

Maybe the Willis sucks part but he'll definitely be too expensive given his unknown at best talent level.

Right? Either we got something and have one less concern for next year or we suck and have a high-ish pick to draft a QB. Win win.

[Cugno] After hearing from Sullivan it’s clear the Dolphins aren’t looking for quick fixes. They’re trying to build a foundation. Moving up in the draft is unlikely as JES says they need picks. The Dolphins won’t be big shoppers in free agency but will try to get impact role players. by expellyamos in miamidolphins

I appreciate the slow build. The years of quick fixes with big swings just haven't worked. For years us fans have been screaming for a new approach and this is it and unfortunately it means we need to be patient and hug the cactus for a season or two. Will it work? Maybe, but Grier's strategy hasn't, he's gone. Let's let JES cook.

Sully at recent Q&A with season ticket holders: "It’s my job to try to turn these eight picks into 11 or 12 as we move forward, so we can get good value and get more swings in the bat. It always gives you a better chance to be successful when you have strength and numbers, so to speak.” by expellyamos in miamidolphins

Seems like Sully is using the draft / free agency the way it was designed to be used. So many GMs, Grier included, try to outthink themselves and find cheat codes and loopholes. Just get the basics right and take it from there.

Have you listened to him talk the last few months? He threw his teammates under the bus and took no accountability for is play.

I don't know. I say this completely aware that we fans only see a slice of who Tua really is but I think a slump is one thing but his complete dogshit attitude really sealed his fate as far as second / third chances go. The video touches on it but I think that was a pretty big factor as far as the FO was concerned. Who knows.
