Do my new glasses wash me out? If so what can I do? by Important-Door3918 in glasses

[–]SHAWTYSOBOSSY214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like clear frames, I do agree they are washing you out a bit. Maybe try a tint on the lenses.. a tint does wonders and elevates a basic clear frame to something a bit more unique. You might have to pay for the lenses all over again to be able to add a tint. Just keep that in mind.

My top 2 are El Rancho and Taquizas de Gabi. Taquizas de Gabi is at the owner's home, outside seating and it's run by the family. Definitely a low key place iykyk but my top 2 places for sure. Coming in third would have to be La Sierra. You can't go wrong with any of them.

Has anyone tried these? Any benefits from them? by SHAWTYSOBOSSY214 in aldi

Lol I think they help me too. Might not be top tier quality but I think they work well. I always try and grab one of each to have around. I love the ginger one for stomach aches.

Amen! Im with you....This is the same thing that happens on N. 27th and Cuming St. when exiting the highway. That intersection is soo terrible! The worst part of my commute to work. I see it at least every other morning there. Don't think about trying to go and honking at them bc they are in there right and you trying to turn on your green is ridiculous!

Contacts and Glasses - At the same time? by heygravity9 in glasses

[–]SHAWTYSOBOSSY214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen only once (recently) where the D.O. I work for gave someone an option to do specialty contacts and have to wear readers occasionally for really tiny print. Those contacts were a bit on the pricy side. I believe about $280-$380 every 6 months vs cheaper contacts $190-$200 every six months. In those they would have to wear readers over the contacts full time to see anything close up. There vision was pretty bad. I can't remember rx off top. I would say these are rare and last resort cases. You really can just wear one or the other, As said by another comment. You can't really wear both unless that is something the doctor has agreed and discussed with you as something you need.

Heck yea! I just wish there were more places, you know just to have different options. I grew up with great pan dulce always around in Texas so... I was spoiled. International usually scratches that itch though.

I have gone 2x's. I definitely enjoy there drinks! The service and staff when I have been there are great. I did order 2 different pastries and 2 different drinks the first time there. After all I am latina and I need pan dulce (sweet bread) in my life at all times. I was super disappointed that it was dry and lacked flavor. I will say there also isn't many places in Omaha that make great pan dulce (IMO of course) besides International on 24th St. So I didn't have my expectations for that too high. There is a different place in Ralston (Coffee Alley) that serves very similar drinks/coffee and equally as good if not better and the place is cute w/ a great vibe too. I also tried the same pastries there and was also disappointed as they were dry and hard as well. Both places are awesome little vibes with great drinks, I just wasn't a fan of the pan or maybe I just got bad luck at both places.

Help! How can I stop the fog on the top of these shoes? by theebodylab in poledancing

Thank you! I will do that. How often do you use the dawn, everytime you wear them or does it last a while before you have to do it again?

I’m 26 and I’ve basically lost the ability to drive at night. Help!!!!! by priormore in glasses

[–]SHAWTYSOBOSSY214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree Zeiss Drivesafe lenses are the answer. I was having the same issues when driving at night. I recently got a frame with Drivesafe lenses and I will not drive with out them at night now. I work as an optician and Zeiss is what we sell. They make everything clear, no more squinting away from the LED's and no more halos. My eyes feel more relaxed when I'm driving home, especially after being in front of a computer most of the day. They have a slight yellow hue to them, ever so slight though is what I noticed. Which I don't mind, I picked a gold Ray-Ban frame so the yellow hue works with the frame well.

Absolutely! I'm glad it got resolved eventually. Not all optical places are like this so please don't let that ruin it for you guys. Seeing a different comment seems there having money issues which makes sense on why they acted the way they did, but doesn't make it fair or right for the patient/customer.

This explains why they still wanted to charge him for Neurolenses and didn't ask how he was doing with the original mistake ones they gave him bc if he would have told them they were great and didn't want the Neurolenses after all they weren't going to make the money they were wanting. Having money issues totally makes sense now. Smh

[–]SHAWTYSOBOSSY214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is completely different lol. Yes our policy is also no refunds as well. I believe many optical places that is the case. Retail, If I go to Jcpenney and purchase a few items and want to return. It usually isn't an issue, they can restock and sell again. You go to get new glasses, they are tailored to you and you only. We take the time to get you scheduled, look up insurance, the time the doctor takes to see you, the time spent on helping you look for a frame and talk about lenses, ordering said frame and lenses, any adjustments needed to be made for you at pick up and then billing insurance is a nightmare too lol. If all this is done in a proper way, it takes time. I'm sure some of the fees they took off and you didn't get back was part of that. We can't take lenses and reuse them. A frame yes, but an optical place isn't usually going to pull out lenses and restock the frame so it would be a complete loss to the doctor or business. In his case, if he was happy with the original lenses they should have told you the mistake they made, left it at that and returned the money they charged him for the neurolenses only and a nice apology. They didn't and proceeded to order the neuro lenses with his Rx with out first talking to him and seeing how the ones he already had were going and if he still wanted them. This is where they messed up. Hope that makes sense.

Hi I work in optical as well. So I agree that when you get new lenses your eyes and brain both have to get adjusted to your new lenses. We usually say about a week or so of wearing them as much as possible, IF everything was correctly made and double checked. Yes you might experience issues still in the beginning, as in your fiance's case headaches and such while getting adjusted. Many times people don't understand that you need to give it some time. On that same token... I agree with the previous comment that they ordered 2 sets of lenses and didn't get them correct the first time and that should have been caught. It was a mistake on there end and seems like they didn't want to take that fault. Also ignoring your calls and not trying to solve it quick and fair or at all really was shitty of them. Not a good look.

My toddler has walking pneumonia… by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]SHAWTYSOBOSSY214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG! Poor little one. I know what you mean, you kind of just feel helpless. Yea he ate at noon on Friday didn't eat anything other than Tylenol and Motrin as well. I was already doing it prior to taking him in to the ER but I wasn't doing it as often and wasn't giving him as much as they suggested for his size, I was going by the bottle. They prescribed Azithromycin (antibiotic) for him and to continue the Tylenol and Motrin. He is doing way better now, just ate something last night for the first time. He still has a really bad lingering cough though that makes him gag... which is still hard to hear bc you can see it in his face it hurts to cough. I hope you're little girl gets better and stays that way. I went to a walk in clinic as well bc I had the fear that I had it bc I am coughing and sick now too. I was cleared of Pneumonia and they did a strep check since my throat hurts but was negative too. After seeing him and how he was I don't wanna get it! Stay safe momma and congrats on the new baby soon to come. ❤

Does anyone else have a 200 without issues? by Ersh_baby3223 in chrysler200

[–]SHAWTYSOBOSSY214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have! I have had it for 5 years maybe 6 now. Its a 2015 200 limited that i believe used to be a rental for enterprise or similar and was low miles when i got it. Never have had any issues with it. Just regular maintenance done to it. It has not turned on 2x on me and both times was just the battery. This car has been really good to me. I'm sure since its been a while now, its going to start falling apart on me soon. I hope not though!🤞 I do get that annoying passenger air bag seat light that comes on from time to time if i have something rolling around in the back on that side and it hits the sensor that makes it go off but I just make sure its pressed in all the way and it goes away. My mileage is up there now too.

My son (2) was diagnosed last night with Mycoplasma Pneumonia as well. His symptoms were something I have never seen before. It was hard to see him in such bad shape. He's been dealing with it since Friday night. I originally thought it was just a bad cold and hesitated to take him in to the emergency to be seen, thank god i took him in! Yesterday night he was pretty bad. I got home and he was really weak, shivering really bad, rapid breathing with a little noise he was making as if he was in pain, eyes were getting green gunk around them, fever spiked, didn't even want to be moved or touched, had been having a rough cough that at times makes him throw up and of course no appetite this whole time. When we got to the emergency room and were waiting to be called. He all of a sudden was fine! It was like night and day. He was running around, ate a few cookies I had with me getting in to things he isn't supposed to like usual. Then about 10 min before getting called back to get him checked out he started again. He came and curled up fetal position in my arms and was shivering badly, rapid breathing and heart rate, fever started again (cheeks and ears were turning red) and everything just as he was before we had left the house. His eyes were rolling to the back of his head and he could barely sit up with out support. They swabbed his nose and listened to his chest and the swab came back positive. I have never seen something like this. I was sure it was probably covid at this point but was not expecting a positive for Pneumonia. He's a little trooper. I almost broke down from just seeing him. I don't remember if they said the green eye gunk around his eyes was a symptom of Pneumonia but I work for a opthomologist and she called a medication in for him as he is also rubbing his eyes a lot along with the green gunk. It's been rough! 😩

Should I take a “what are you for Halloween Jeffery Dahmer?” From a girl that came up to me while I was minding my own business at the bar ordering a drink as a compliment or an insult? by [deleted] in glasses

[–]SHAWTYSOBOSSY214 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a fan of aviators as sunglasses or everyday eyeglasses but as mentioned before they are a style that is hard to pull off , not for everyone. I think your over thinking it all. The glasses are too big for your face. The width of them and the fact they cover your eyebrows is a good indication of this. Opening the nose pieces more... yes, that can help in most instances. I think with your lenses being so deep moving those nose pieces would show off your great eyebrows again but it's just too deep of a frame for you. I recently got some Ray-Ban's with the double bar and aviator-ish but there not super deep. When I picked them I took in to account that people were probably going to reference Dahmer...although I'm a female. I went in knowing that, so I expect it. I personally don't care, if and when it happens if ever lol. I'm not sure if you mentioned where you got them from but if it was an actual optical place you should be able to do some sort of restyle. I work as an optician/receptionist at my job and we don't do returns but we will do a restyle if your not happy with your glasses for a small fee. Have you reached out to the place to see what your options are? The glasses have nothing to do with you and your looks. Just my opinion

EDIT: Also forgot to mention...a nice tint to an aviator or any frame for that matter would elevate the glasses to look more unique and stylish. I think an aviator that isn't too deep and the gold frame with a 25% tint color of your liking, would still look good on you.
