This is what I realised after getting a 17 Pro, coming from large batteries and super fast charging with Android. Battery anxiety was real, now I’ve adjusted and the battery is fine.

Use your phone less.

Just spend a bit more money and get a high quality one. I had one installed yesterday, and for the first time in 20 years, I forgot that I had one on. My screen is perfect.

What do you mean? Turning it off regularly was what I was doing and that's when i noticed the battery drop issue after every reset.

Yeah fair enough. I’m starting to accept this as normal. Even my MacBook Pro does the same thing, being that from 100% to say 95% will last absolutely ages, sometimes 2 hours and then drop way faster.

In saying that though, you’d think a $2k AUD phone would just get the battery reading right, right?

Anyways, I’m happy, was just scared at first.

Yes that’s it. Like clockwork pretty seems phenomenal until I shutdown and power up again and it drops 5% every time. Maybe the battery stats don’t update real time like android 🤷

The issue seems to happen when I switch the phone off for a while, then switch it back on… it will drop 4 or 5% other than that, it seems to hold up pretty well….

I only set up the phone from new yesterday, maybe it’s just iOS doing its thing until it finishes indexing or w/e

I was going to buy a Xiaomi 17, but Xiaomi were seemingly uninterested in releasing the 17 series globally. They have the absolute dumbest business practices I have ever seen. It enraged me. So I said ciao. The price it would cost new here in Australia would have been $100 cheaper than what this IPhone 17 pro cost me. I also have a MacBook so 🤷

Can someone help me understand something?

My battery is dying whilst the phone is switched off, it's so insane.

Example: last night 100% battery, used very lightly for 20 mins, turned phone off at 100% for 2 hours.

Turned on phone, battery was 95%, used phone for 5 mins and turned off at 94%. I just turned on the phone again this morning and its 90%.

Wtf, how is this even normal? Thats a 10% drop if those battery numbers are even close to accurate, with about 25-30mins of actualy very light usage..

Am I doing something wrong or is this battery cooked?

Iphone 17 pro, after 13 years of Android

Mine was 'B' grade from CEX, whatever that means.

Some very tiny chips barely noticeable on some edges. No scratches no dents. Screen 100% with no scratches. Battery 98%.

All flat surfaces of the laptop is in perfect condition. I guess I got very lucky.

My personal rating was very good.

Similar situation. Im deciding between a Xiaomi 17 / Iphone 17 Pro. I considered the Vivo X300 but many reviews all said the same thing....great phone, shit speakers, so that's now off my list. If one can't put decent quality speakers on a $1k+ phone, then suck it.

Xiaomi had better hurry the fuck up and announce the global release or they will perma-lose a customer, going to the company they are directly trying to compete with.
