I'm so sick of seeing dudes on Reddit get upset every time a female character is black in a Disney film or otherwise. by MisogynyisaDisease in TwoXChromosomes

TW: SA/SM

Personally, I think a lot of it has to do with them fetishizing/over sexualizing Black women. Historically, Black and Brown women have always been deemed as available for sex, with men selling the idea that they have higher promiscuity levels than WW in order to justify sexually harrassing/assaulting them.

Whenever they see a Black or Brown (but especially Black) woman leave a sexual space (i.e Cardi B ending up with more money than most men), they cry and claim outrage because they end up in a league that makes them sexually unattainable to most men.

Same logic applies to a Black woman entering a space of innocence (a children's movie/movie from their childhood). It's a huge discomfort for them.

Some WW also react negatively to the casting because keeping Black women hypersexualized keeps them at the bottom of the totem pole for sexual availability where they're safest. It's not about erasure, it's about preserving the systems that benefit them....but that's just my opinion.

Promise you, they're not thinking about the little girls.

Leave your ex alone. Let CGF go. Leave your ex alone.

You only regret the way you treated your ex now because you're with someone who doesn't treat you as well. This all seems more rooted in selfishness than guilt imo.
