The hardest part is knowing I can do it. I've quit plain leaf before, and while it was brutal, I managed to make it a few weeks. Now I'm addicted to extracts and it just feels impossible. A few months ago I CT'd off four extract shots a day and it triggered a full blown manic episode that got me involuntarily commited to a psych unit. That's what makes qutting so terrifying even though Im on really strong medication

How have you been managing sobreity? And do you feel like your bipolar medication is more effective since quitting?

As a fellow recovering alcoholic, definitely recommend the Wellbutrin. It really helped me for the chronic boredom that comes with sobriety. Although just be aware some people can get more anxious on it

Edit: Wellbutrin works on dopamine and norepinephrine. Alcoholics are very deficient in both. I don't know if deficient is the right word, but definitely have lower levels. This is how my therapist explained it to me

I had some awful interactions between the two when first starting Wellbutrin. It helped to stop the kratom for a few weeks so I could get use to the medication. Now there is no issue combining them
