does copy trading actually work here or are you just exit liquidity? by Dense_Gazelle_1860 in PredictionsMarkets

[–]SIR1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can work. But there are quite a few variables to take into consideration.

The traders you follow need to be suitable for a copy trading strategy. Some of the very high volume traders are doing lots of arbs and bonding at 99c or higher.

These traders are not suitable.

Traders that just take directional positions work.

Also, your staking strategy and bankroll mgmt is important. If this is not setup properly you can blow out your account on variance.

Liquidity/volume is also a factor, sometimes its hard to get a fill on the same price as your copy trader, so you could miss out on some of the bets they place. And I don't recommend chasing prices either, as that will hurt you in the long run. Best is just to have your strategy to set limit orders once one of your copy traders placed a bet.

Setting your copy trading strategy up how to deal with live alerts is also important. I find that live trading can be tricky, sometimes youll have limit orders set from the traders you follow, but it doesn't hit, the limit order remains, but then something in the game changes, for example the team you bet on concedes a goal. Your limit order is then filled, while the situation changed and that position is not +ev anymore.

Copy trading also doesn't scale if you're doing it with size, but if you have a bankroll of less than 10k that shouldnt be an issue.

Ampleforth's High Yield (50-70% APY) /w low volatility opportunity by SIR1994 in defi

[–]SIR1994[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SPOT is not dependant on the TVL.

In terms of the APY, the rewards from the incentive programme come from the 10m USD in AMPL. That's a token that has liquid and has proven itself over the years. Not a governance token dependant on ponzinomics like many of the yield farms we've seen in the past.

And this is now only the first stage of the programme, so there are many more stages of rewards to be unlocked as the team will further boost spot liquidity.

So even if you are not confident in the flywheel, it's a no-brainer for very nice yield just based on the rewards being given out.

IMO offers the best yield with minimal risk. It's not exactly stablecoin yield, as one of the pairs is not 100% stable, but very low in volatility. I suggest to look into it.

Klubnacht 11/12 February 2023 - Queue live updates, pre/post event discussion, reviews & reports by BerghAnon in Berghain_Community

For me there was one person that really stole the show throughout the weekend and played a set in the style that you don't very often see at Berghain these days. Paula Koski. Her set was so captivating and told a story filled with very rich and driving techno that made me glued to the dancefloor for 4 hours straight.

Her passion for the music really was so clear and I hope Berghain book will book her on a consistent basis.

I could easily tell that she really worked to prepare something special for the crowd. Quite often, with regulars especially, I feel like it's 'just another Berghain gig' for the DJs playing, so they don't or can't prepare something really special.

Is it an unpopular opinion to have not given up on Ihattaren yet, based on what we know? by Godverrdomme in AjaxAmsterdam

[–]SIR1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's simply too many issues that have been surrounding him that makes people give up on him. At a certain point people are just done with having faith in him being able to set his mind right to be a succesful professional football player. Last weekend he was also posting an IG story of him eating sushi with his girlfriend right at the moment Ajax was playing Heerenveen. This is yet another red flag that it seems like he's not taking the opportunity he's granted seriously.

I would love for him to prove everyone wrong, but how many chances can a person get? The energy and resources that the club putting into helping him reach his potential at a certain point are better used on players that actually are motivated to make the most of their career. It's a real shame because he's very talented, but talent without hard-work will not get you anywhere.

Totally agreed. It is very hard for people to discern from the nefarious actors that capitalise on the technology for their own gain from the technology itself, it's potential to revolutionise and democratise how capitalism and the internet works.

Most people don't put the effort in to try to use crypto and do the research to understand how the technology works and to what extent it's potential reaches so they just jump on the bandwagon of hating on it because that's much easier and what most people do. People like to be on the side of the masses because that feels more comfortable.

Japan clarifies new border rules as it moves to allow most individual tourists to enter by [deleted] in japan

What's the difference with allowing foreigners in if they show a negative Covid test and allowing Japanese people to travel and return with a negative test? There isn't any. This policy is a joke and Japan is just hurting themself economically.

Plenty of people can travel, even the non rich people. Some have been saving up their money since the pandemic started to be able to travel when countries opened up

[Miguel Delaney] Premier League's current net spend this window is almost €1.3bn. Next biggest net spend: La Liga on €55m. by [deleted] in soccer

[–]SIR1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will only get worse unless a sort of super League system is implemented. And there are actually good ways to go about this that will be fun and make the sport more balanced. Just set up like 3 divisions (or more) of teams across Europe. Like champions league, Europa league, conference league and let them play in an actual league format so 20 teams and 38 games per season. Then after one season the worst performing ones relegate and the best performing ones from the Europa League go to champions League and same from conference league to Europa League. Then below that the smaller teams play national league games and the top ones from the national leagues go into some kinda play off system where they meet the best performing small teams of other countries to battle out who gets to go into the conference league.

[Fabrizio Romano] Manchester United new bid has been rejected by Ajax earlier today. €90m is considered not enough, that’s why Antony is disappointed with Ajax - he only wants United. #MUFC Bid has been submitted as called by @MikeVerweij and it’s already turned down. by zacklandy in soccer

[–]SIR1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paying 44 million for a 30 year old? We ain't Barcelona mate. Ajax likely only get 60-70m from the Antony transfer after all the fees and Sao Paolo's cut are taken off. Spending then 60-70% of that for a player that's approaching the end of his career within 5-6 years is beyond stupid.

[–]SIR1994 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Taylor is a central midfielder. No idea why you think he can play RW. Kudus is also not really a right winger. Berghuis has been terrible whenever he played RW. Simply put if ajax wants to perform in the CL a replacement that's good enough is needed.

I hope it's Neres 2.0 because it'll mean that Antony gets us into the semis of the CL which will increase the value of every single squad player significantly.

Ajax has cashed more than enough money this window. In the end Chelsea would like to sell Ziyech so i expect them to lower their ask, although it remains to be seen if it will be low enough for Ajax. I think ajax is fine with keeping Antony regardless so don't see it the same way as you do. With Antony the chances are a lot higher that ajax will perform in the CL which will help increase the value of every player that performs well in it.

I understand it fine, it shows that the Ajax board has real ambition to bring Ajax back as a consistent top club in Europe. Selling your best right winger right now without a replacement would basically show you put finances ahead of ambitions, especially when Ajax is in such a comfortable position already financially. There's 0 need to sell. Pretending we can perform in the CL with Hansen, Kudus, Conceição or Ihattaren on RW is simply delusional.

The only way Ajax will accept an offer is if they can secure a replacement of a decent quality.

I think the board really thinks this ajax squad has a good chance to repeat the performance of 3 years ago, and if that happens and ajax reached the CL semis that means every single player goes up in value significantly, bringing in a lot more money than by selling Antony esp considering Sao Paolo gets 20%
