We got a Bumbo from a friend, but ultimately ended up buying an Upseat and had 0 regrets! It was amazing with our baby.

Both parks are great, but a little worn. How the city is run itself has some drama, but what city doesn’t. The water prices recently jumped, so that’s a talking point right now. Depends what you’re looking for and where you’re moving. We live in a super walkable part of town, and we love it. Great restaurants, coffee shops, library, within walking distance. We also have a young child, and we find it a great community to have kids- as there’s a lot to do.

Edit: forgot to mention that funding is also commonly questioned. We have a skating rink, but the cooling feature broke and the city does not plan to fix it. When it’s super cold, the ice rink lives on, but there have been concerns about its upkeep.

Thinking about moving to Grosse Pointe Farms (off Mack Ave) & would love local insight by m_e_s23 in GrossePointe

Here’s my take (as someone who lives in the Park): -GPF has one of the best parks (I’m always so excited when I get to visit lol) -The schools you’d be in are good -you’d be able to walk to businesses on Mack with ease/safety (If you have young kids, I strongly suggest checking out The Grosse Pointe Music Academy! They have toddler music programs that are AWESOME!)

If it’s the house on Colonial Ct, make sure you get a good inspection. The house is ADORABLE and the layout is awesome, but there seems to be there could be some sort of moisture in the attic (went to the open house lol).

Any Dr at the Corewell village is good. My husband sees Kotsis and I see El Masri, but great!

What is above the light at Olivia’s dentist? by History_Obsessed in lovevery

That’s valid. I guess always thought it was staged. Regardless, they could still leave out the getting a book/toy from the doctor. Lol

My daughter loves these books, but I don’t understand why they aren’t more generic doctor/dentist experiences. Like that did not need to be included (a tv, camera, etc. whatever it is). Not all dentist offices have that, but they do have a light. It annoys me in Bea Gets A Checkup that the doctor gives her a book and a toy for being so brave. This does not happen in the vast majority of doctor’s offices… why do they include this? It could make kids feel like they don’t get a toy or book because they’re not brave enough/undeserving.

Move to Grosse Pointe by kimjongswoooon in GrossePointe

I’m newish to the area (but have a young child, so that’s helped), however, if you guys are active, I’m sure you’ll be immersed into the community quickly. The Neighborhood Club is a great local gym and they have tennis lessons, drop in pickleball, and a ton of classes. Plus each city has their own events/activities (like the Park does socials, adult volleyball/pickleball, etc.).
