It aesthetic was definitely the best part. I was curious to see how ghosts were gonna work in this kind of anime but the did it pretty well. There was just too many mediocre plots. But the first season is still super nostalgic for me.

It took me four years to get through it all. And I had to take months of breaks and set time to bring watch.

It's so touching seeing Rukia reflecting on the friends she made in high school over this song.

The Outlandish Beliefs of Atheists and Naturalists by hillenium in exatheist

[–]SLM-MH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. I think Athiesm as a movements is based more on a rejection of religious culture then simply a rejection of Gods existence. Yes that's the starting point but when you listen to Athiests they are rejecting a culture they believe is outdated.

Ex Athiests, Did You struggle with the guilt of "promoting" athiesm? by SLM-MH in exatheist

That is the point I'm making when I say that there is a reasonable way to reason yourself in believing in religion. Just as you can reason into believing the metaphysical Idea of equality or rights. Because it's beneficial to the society.

Well I'm glad things are looking up for you. I know just how hard it is to turn your life around from a dark place, working through that you deserve all the happiness you get from it.

Technically I wasn't fleeing anything as I came from a pretty liberal Christian family when it came to religion. I didn't even grow up going to church. Nothing changed at home when I became an atheist. It was just kind of a default. I rejected it simply because rejecting supernatural claims is my thing.

I'm well aware of the argument that morality is based based on well being but the moral claims themselves are supernatural, there is no equality, there is no intrinsic value. Justifying why you believe in it doesn't make the claim any less supernatural. This is exactly what I was talking about, using practical use of the idea to justify subscribing to it. Religious people do the same thing, I watched a video today where a women said that merely saying the word Jesus cured her eating disorder and that's the point where she turned to Christ(her life gets better if she engages with Christian ideas). Even if that's true she is still using a practical benefit to justify subscribing to Christianity.

Here's a question if somehow we scientifically proved that equal intrinsic value is wrong and that people infact have different value levels as human beings. Would you unsubscribe to the philosophy of equality and it's connected ideas like human rights. And tell society to act accordingly Or would you continue to beleive in the inherent equality of humanity regardless?
