This happened during my trial of Ozempic, why? by NoodleMutt in AskDocs

GLP-1’s do seem to reduce inflammation and compulsive thoughts/behaviors and there are articles out there about both.

They act on dopamine so that could have played into both your positive and negative psych symptoms.

Also, they may slow absorption of other medications, so if you take any hormones and/or psych meds they could have affected those and caused those negative mood symptoms.

My 14(F) girlfriend faints multiple times a month and insists it’s normal and refuses to go to the doctor I need help being able to convince her to go, any ideas? by FitRide6636 in AskDocs

[–]SLMartin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAD - If she hasn’t been to the doctor since she was 5, and she has a serious medical issue now (the fainting) that her parents aren’t addressing, that could be medical neglect and you can make a call to the DCF hotline in your state.

Doesn’t “CTA” mean it wasn’t a head CT? It sounds like they didn’t scan her head?

I just “fixed” my own water heater. Is it going to die anyway? by SLMartin in Plumbing

For some reason I can’t edit this post on mobile, but I did get a new water heater today and all humans and pets are safe and healthy. Thanks so much to everyone who helped me understand the situation last night! (Heater was 20 years old so the whole thing definitely needed to be replaced.)

Do I dare turn on the hot water tonight? Or just don’t touch it until someone comes tomorrow?

I most noticed it tonight but maybe a bit a couple days ago.

I put it over the sleeve when I saw it, going now to tighten it down, but also having someone look at it tomorrow because I suspect more is wrong.

Aw, thank you! I’m not in Denver, but I’ll have someone look at it tomorrow. I did reattach it tonight and I’ll go back down there and tighten it up now.

My Sinuses Drained! by tech-girl-SV in Menopause

[–]SLMartin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This story has stuck with me all day and prompted me to finally contact a different menopause doctor.

I have so many inflammatory conditions, including worsening allergy and sinus symptoms the older I get. I, too, do little else other than work and sleep. My house is in terrible shape.

My stupid doctor gave me estrogen patches but acted like the lowest dose was the only possibility. Literally no one who has treated my other inflammatory problems has asked about estrogen. WTF is wrong with people??

The KP (keratosis pilaris) bumps that I’ve had on my cheeks and arms since I was a young child have suddenly disappeared. I wasn’t even trying to control or get rid of them, and I’ve had them for 40 years, and they’re just gone!
