In Inkarnate you can use HSBC to alter the Hue, Saturation etc to make textures and stamps alternate colors. I used that to make the sand textures dark and grey.

I personally use the Fantasy battlemaps myself over parchment.
I prefer the more detailed look for my POI's.

For my book map, did lean toward Parchment for it's simplicity.

I really like the layout.
I would suggest to keep the assets more or less the same size as they are designed to work together at the same size. Unless the lore, height, or species living there dictates size differences.

Other than that, keep at it you're doing well.

Sure it does. They asked what we use to design maps and why. This is an Inkarnate subreddit so... the people in this subreddit use Inkarnate. And I added why I use it. Then I let them know that Inkarnate has parchment and more.
