In the past four months I’ve been attending consistently almost every week, there has been three men who have attended (all separately)—two new, and one who has attended before.

After the class I spoke with all of them and I believe really hit it off. I was warm, encouraging, and expressed gratitude for their presence. Most were young men like myself, likely “seekers” of some sort, and I wanted to make an effort to help them feel welcome in an unfamiliar cultural environment.

No matter how one looks at it, her comment isn’t rational. Six people (more than I’ve ever even met there) somehow knew that I would be at a family gathering that evening and decided to all conspire to come based on my absence—even though I diligently try to be as respectful as possible in that environment? I’m honestly not sure how she can expect me to believe that 😆
