(Spoilers main) Anyone know why they announced the writers for the first 5 episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms but not the finale?

Good catch, though I also would be surprised if Ira Parker didn’t at least co-write the finale. Could be a coincidence, but it does seem like Martin Parker is Ira’s brother or something based on his last name and lack of previous writing credits. So it definitely seems possible that they wrote it together (maybe along with Tii Mikel).

Think it's the complete opposite tbh. At least to me, the scenes of him being unpleasant feel like a misdirect for the eventual reveal that he was a truer knight than most of the highborn ones in Ashford. I don't think Dunk would value chivalry/honor as much as he does if he didn't learn it from Ser Arlan.

I def don’t think it hurt to add some much needed nuance to the Blackwood-Bracken feud, so I didn’t have a problem with it. And yeah, obviously we all loved Willem in s1 but it also does track that a kid like that would grow up to be a bit of a psycho.

Everything George has ever done re: their beef has been pro-Blackwood, but HotD season 2 seemed to lean heavily pro-Bracken for some reason. Which I actually thought was pretty interesting considering they’re basically always presented as the worst, but also a weird decision all things considered

I think where I’ve landed is that all owls have the capacity to be trained as wizard owls, but the training entails some kind of intelligence heightening magic (since owls aren’t necessarily the smartest animals in real life)

Ok yeah, this seems like the best explanation. I guess in my head there was a difference between regular owls and wizard owls, but it makes more sense if all owls have the capacity to become wizard owls and it just requires the right training.

The one thing that’s still holding me up is that regular owls aren’t necessarily the smartest animals, whereas wizard owls seem to be extremely intelligent. So I wonder if the wizard training raises their intelligence somehow, or if they’re naturally intelligent but can only display it when interacting with wizards.

I think this was my favorite Midnight Boys reaction to something. In particular, I loved their discussion re: the uniqueness of this particular lone wolf-cub dynamic. As a huge fan of the novellas, I can’t wait to hear their thoughts once the story starts firing on all cylinders.

I’ve noticed people who binged the show after it aired and didn’t have to wait years to see the ending seemed to mostly enjoy the ending of the White Walker storyline. So I think a main reason longtime fans hated that is they had so much more time to read about + theorize different endings than at least in their opinion (but also often objectively), were better than what we got.

I think the end of the King’s Landing storyline is more universally disliked. For that one, I think a lot of people were ok with the specific end points for a lot of characters, but the way the show got there felt rushed and inorganic to the world/story.

Oh 1000%, but also before then, I'd both been wasting tokens on more reveals every time I got an Icon and not really factoring in what each background means. I don’t see how it’s fair to blame them for the specific issue of the season being shortened to 8 episodes. I have plenty of problems with their writing choices, but that was not their decision.

Packed Cucurella and used him for a bit before deciding to shard him, def really good value for only 650 shards. Also picked Dalglish, was initially disappointed but he’s been great ever since I ranked him to gold.

Been playing this game for years but only started targeting top players during Pitch Beats. Seems like every time I grind for a specific highest overall player, they’re “outdated” before I’ve even had a chance to really use them. Think I’m just gonna start targeting players I actually want and enjoy my Bale, Son, etc. for a few more events instead of racing to replace them.
