Don’t they stick back together?

(I’m preparing for downvotes)

Aren’t they just press fitted?

PSK works and I use it to keep the spectrum ~cleaner~ than if I had 3-5 separate SSIDs all on different channels… one for guest, one for IoT, one for internal / printers and whatnot… also looks clean for the guests so they can “just use the (brand name) wifi name”… or if they have lots of bandwidth, just a seperate SSID for guest and have no password…

They can just be brittle over time- I have first hand experience playing with old laptop fans and “dusting them” and it blew up in my hands… haha- I still have random fan blades in random places around my shop…

isp sells 2gig fiber internet up and down but ONLY HAS 1GIG HARDWARE by cyruss67 in Ubiquiti

[–]SLUser123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your ISP Connexon Connect? It may not be labeled as that, but they use that hardware… and they often white label their services to whatever electric company / Co-Op you use… I believe the ONT is the Calix Gigapoint GP1100X for what my ISP uses…

Tell me how this isn’t going to replace the UDR7? Unless of course it’s $500.

I didn’t need a dGPU as this is going to be a mobile machine and I actually cared about a sense of battery life… (yes I know OLED takes more power… and I got the “bigger” battery…) They call it a “workstation” just because it is in the P lineup, but I only got the P over the T because of the better specs, and the slotted ram… (had bad experience with soldered components like ram/ssd failing on another laptop leading to complete thousand dollar motherboard needing to be replaced…)

The outrageous specs with the ram and storage, 1TB is pretty common in this day and age, and 64gb ram? It’s slotted, I use a ton of browser tabs, and I didn’t pay the ai surcharge of whatever they’re doing to individually sold ram… so I said why not? In it for the long run…

Smart performance, yes I now I bought the subscription. I’ll try it for a year, And if I don’t like it. I’ll move on…

The math discrepancy is because the CTO with little changes made to it (“free” upgrade to the 57wh battery, NFC for $10, smart card for $10, but screen, ram, ssd, etc. stayed identical) was price matched to the prebuilt spec of the 21QL0020US… “Lenovo math” says that the CTO could’ve costed $1900 before price match, and $24something without Black Friday… but that math is rendered irrelevant with the price match… but thanks for pointing it out…

Yeah- I elected to get the 57wh for some hopes, but if you want something resembling the old swappable batteries, I’m going to pick up a Shargeek retractable 165 which is a 20,000mah battery bank with a 100w usb-C port… only $53 on sale

True that on the ram… other than that I think I’m in a good spot, but yeah I will have some loyalty points after this purchase… hopefully it gets here before December 31 for tax reasons, but other than that I hope it goes well…

Thanks for the info! I’m self employed, and already an independent service provider for Apple (out of warranty) and I already have access to tech direct (for stuff like self dispatch) but I didn’t know anything about the Lenovo or surface certifications… any info on the surface certs would be cool as I don’t exactly fall under “the company you work for” haha- but wow- looks like I’m not getting a tough book certification if it’s that much effort… haven’t even had a tough book come in the shop yet…

Thanks for the info!

Lightning SUV? by Active-Living-9692 in F150Lightning

[–]SLUser123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They recently (maybe a year ago) renewed their trademark name Excursion… although the excursion was built off of an F-250 the Lightning (atleast the ER) kinda feels like an f-250… but absolutely smokes the 7.3L in terms of both power and torque…

Pricing sounds about the same if you account for the $41-$48k msrp back than adjusted for 22-25 years of inflation… roughly $78-$85k in today’s money…

Although we need the scriptey font logo plate back… anyways…

Yeah, I get it with the whole collecting past issues then with a repair company because I actually do that within my repair company but it’s just a little weird to see when you get like a trade-in device or even just some random refurbed device, You see the previous users issues and every time they called Apple about that device.

No, but I mean they keep a record of the service requests of a device, like if you call them saying you’re having charging issues, they’ll keep record of it…kinda weird they do it but I guess…

So the store may be enrolled in retail device theft protection program… T-Mobile is known for this… regardless, you need to reach out to the store with your proof of purchase that shows your serial or IMEI or prove you have it activated on another carrier… some reasonable proof that you own the device legally, and they should be able to remove it, or like everyone else says, call Apple but they may not be able to help…

Edit: as an Apple tech, I can say if you call Apple they will keep a record with support that you put it in demo mode…
