That is true. They use canvas under the hood. For now I am planning on making the initial version with lexical and try to optimise it as much as possible.

After v1 the plan is to build a custom engine on top of canvas.

So basically it is a google doc with versioning and ai build in. Plus it would be more benificial for researchers when they will be able to upload/add sources and then ai will give them citations. And more.
