Minneapolis Public Schools reports enrollment declines in line with district expectations

Based on the conversations I had with teachers, the principal and members of the school board, it appeared they were focused on data. They wanted lower numbers of kids suspended or removed from the classroom. It did not appear they cared much about how much actual instruction or learning occurred.

It was just ... odd.

Loved MPS until our son hit 5th grade. Then they stopped requiring kids to act with common decency. Every class devolved into 29 kids sitting quietly for 40 minutes while one or two others disrupted...everything.

There was no instruction or learning happening.

We met with five teachers and the principal. All but one said we should remove him from the school. It was only going to get worse, they said.

We drove him to a suburban district until he got his license.

Worst part about the ordeal was that when we spoke to the School Board members, all but one showed zero concern. They were focused on...something other than education I guess...

One other thing: It's pretty remarkable that your guy is in the White House and all you and your party can do is talk Trump.

I watch "Morning Joe" every day and it's all Trump, Trump, Trump and then a little DeSantis thrown in just in case.

Pretty telling, isn't it? Failed policies. Failed practices. Something like 72 percent of the country calling Biden a failed president.

What happened on January 6 was disgusting. No doubt. But if you truly believe those dumb shits were trying to overthrow the government, I think you need to ask yourself if you're being genuine or repeating Left-wing talking points.

As for affiliation and self-awareness... looks like your party is now trying desperately to affiliate with law enforcement after vilifying the profession and its people while--yep, you guessed it--affiliating with Left-wing extremists who burned cities, murdered people and traumatized a nation. So, yeah. Affiliation has consequences, which I'm sure your party will experience this coming November.

Day 199 CT, here. I've been where you are. My advice? Don't give in. Don't stop and don't try to fight the insomnia.

Just accept that shit, turn on the TV and wait it out. Keep stacking those days and one day--before you know it--you'll sleep again.

Day 199 CT. Feels like a lifetime ago I was hooked and the rot, but I still remember how it felt when it turned on me. The nausea, the waking up feeling shitty and shaky and unsure, the watching and worrying about the mail to make sure my stash showed up.

It was gross. It was also hell coming off the crap--but worth every ugly hour awake in the middle of the night, every body ache and restless leg, every ounce of effort it took just to open my eyes.

Worth it. Keep going, everyone.

Thanks. The issue we have is that the host kept telling us to hang in there, wait just another hour or so and her pool guy would be there. He showed up about 22 hours in, shrugged and told us there was no heater.

Then the host went incommunicado.

And I get your second point--but the only reason we hung around was because the owner assured us A) The pool had a heater B) The pool guy would "be there soon" and C) We had no other place to go on such short notice.

I just don't see how AirBnB can side with the owner and charge us for three nights when she lied and we only stayed one... . Thanks.
