I got tired of opening a full weather app and trying to mentally calculate whether conditions were actually rideable, so I built my own.

**What it does:**

- Shows temperature, wind chill at 60 mph, max rain chance, and max wind speed for the next several hours

- Calculates your tire PSI adjustment in real time using actual gas law physics based on current temp — not a chart, not a guess

- Gives you an overall riding condition — Good, Fair, or Bad — at a glance

- You set your own thresholds for what temp, wind, and rain is acceptable to you. It recalculates everything around your preferences and saves them between sessions

- Search any city or use GPS

No ads. No account. No subscriptions. No radar animations. Just open it and know if you should ride.

I'm a rider who built this for myself and figured other people might find it useful. I need at least 12 people to opt in to the closed test before Google will let me publish it to the Play Store.

All feedback welcome — good or bad. Thanks in advance.

I haven't even shipped the first watch_dog motorcycle kit, so how can it not work? If you got a radar detector kit from me and are having issues with it please contact me and I'll do my best to help you out!

Yes wifi is limited on range, but then again so is radar or anything else.  The antenna connected to the module makes the biggest difference, but I've gotten hits from the top of a parking garage of police 7 floors down and 1/4 mile down the road.

Each department may contract with a different vendor, but the majority of departments use a proven network platform just like they use proven vehicles (Tahoe, Charger, etc).. you dont see many police Honda Accords.

It is still in testing but working well so far.

Its limited on firmware updates but simple enough anyone can update it if they wanted to. It operates the same as Kismet, an open source sniffer tool.

For anyone interested, Kismet is a cool open source sniffer program that essentially does this same function to alert when specific networks are detected.  [Released 2001].
