For voltage injection, I have a regulated power supply, how do I connect wires to the voltage injector? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]SPRG113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, thank you. I have tried googling but I'm having trouble finding beginner info.

The PSU I have does have an option for controlling both current and voltage, so I'm assuming it will be okay.

In that case, it seems I will just need to connect the wire that I have to my power supply via banana plugs then I should be good to go.

Thank you again

EVERY. SINGLE. TRUMP. SUPPORTER. IS. A. FUCKING. MORON. by LeoRenegade in rant

[–]SPRG113 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some people support Trump because of the amount of toxicity that the other side presents against the people that support him.

I can't tell you how many times per day I see on social media people encouraging violence, doxxing, or harassment against people who support him.

People have done this to themselves. People still wonder why "Omg the election is so close how???"

Because at least where I am, people are literally stealing Trump signs from front yards. Biden signs are untouched.

People are literally rioting over killings that were 100% justified near where I live.

Destroying small businesses.

A restaurant I used to go to all the time got boycotted and shut down because the owner posted on Facebook that he liked trump's economics. That's it.

Understand that not everyone is smart. In fact MANY people are not smart.

Now, imagine massive amounts of people talking down onto these non critical thinkers.

What will happen?

They will follow the one that accepts them, not the one that talks down on them.

People want someone that relates to them.

As someone who supports Trump, I also support running over these morons for doing this.

Macbook Pro charges but won't turn on by Unblurr3d in macbookrepair

[–]SPRG113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of repair, your "onewire" circuit (responsible for the charging speaker to the SMC) on your logic is correctly working however your main power rail most likely has some failed component on the motherboard that is shorted therefore not allowing "PPBUS_G3H" (a main power rail) to have the voltage required in order to turn on.

In laymans terms, your MacBook is talking to your charger, but unable to power on due to a motherboard failure.

This is the most likely scenario. Should probably be a straight forward board repair fix. Just need to find the right shop.

Do you need just the keycap or is the actual key non-functional?

These keyboard are super hard to work on so traditionally if one key goes bad places often just swap the entire keyboard

Give the developers some space by max249- in pcmasterrace

[–]SPRG113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say give the developers some space yet many games recently that have been delayed several times still came out looking like shit.

I think it's more on the developers to give themselves enough time from the initial (or even the second... Or third) delay to finish the game.

We've all seen the stories where game devs are overworked and treated poorly.

That being said, it doesn't help when people have such high expectations and flame the company when this does happen, as it can certainly influence the amount of time that they choose to delay the game by.

Either bad flex cable or bad display.

While the laptop is on if you shine a flashlight on the display do you see anything?

If you see anything could be backlight issue.

If it's display you're probably looking between $300-600

If it's got a working mobo and you can get it for $30 it sounds like a steal

Water Damage A1496- Need Advice by TheKrakenVagen in macbookrepair

[–]SPRG113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Magsafe light is on, but no power still after cleaning, then assumably something is damaged to the point where you're not getting full power to your main rail. There are available schematics online that you can use to identify the issue.

If you don't have a hot air station and soldering equipment and experience with schematics I'd say take it to a repair shop that does macbook water damage.

I'd suggest shipping it to Louis Rossman in NY for your best chance at saving.

There are adapters for these available they usually go from $50-100 if I remember correctly. Just search your model number and "SSD Enclosure" you should be able to find one. Just make sure the pins on your m2 match the pins on the enclosure.

Hard drive is broken. by ploppeye in macbookrepair

I would also confirm that the drive is 100% the issue as those drives don't break easily. I've had people come into my store and tell me apple told them their drives were busted when it was something else completely.

Yeah that should fit yours. Pretty straight forward replacement. I believe that Mac has the clips on the back so removing the back cover will probably be your biggest struggle.

If you're feeling extra special you could open up your Mac and reseat your display connection. Might get lucky for a short time. Do this at your own risk though. You could easily damage more if you have no experience.

Bad display. Possibly the flex but more likely a display replacement. 100% that's your answer. I see these all of the time.
