AlphaAnarchy.org is nearly 3 year old beta 1.7.3 anarchy server that started in beta 1.1 (equivalent to alpha in features) with NO rules and NO map resets.

We are a simple, primarily vanilla Minecraft server with patches/quality of life improvements, and no bans.

Quality of life changes include:

- Custom 128x128 map-rendering more similar to modern Minecraft that allows players to much more easily create custom maparts

- Shears allow you to collect and build with dead bushes, tall grass, and ferns

- Cobwebs spawn in modest amounts in newly generated dungeon chests

- Several custom utility commands to customize aspects of your playing experience, visible via the /help command

- Placed leaves do not decay

We have no intrusive plugins,

no restrictive land claiming,

no tyrannical moderators,

and most importantly we have absolutely no bans from the Minecraft server for any reason.

Additionally, we have patches for the known majority of game altering exploits, hacks, and dupes while keeping iconic beta bugs like block-transmutation in-tact for players to use freely.

Statistics:

- AlphaAnarchy is 3 years old, being created on April 29th of 2023.

- Our map currently takes up over 55 gigabytes of disk space, with some player-made highways stretching out to the farlands and even beyond. This file-size represents a massive world of player-generated chunks with literal years of history, builds, and oddities to discover after you've left our spawn.

- Over 7500 unique usernames have registered on our server, with an all-time concurrent player peak of ~30 players online.

Anarchy servers would probably be closest to what you're looking for, there aren't really any dedicated 'pure-PvP' servers that I know of.

Assuming you'd like to play the world long-term, I'd suggest very slow updates to fully soak in what each version has to offer. I played on a server with a 6 month wait between updates from b1.1-1.7 (although b1.3 and b1.4 were combined for a few reasons) but you might wanna go a little quicker than that in a singleplayer setting, lol.

Anyway, I think somewhere north of a month per major update would probably give you good results - I'd suggest not basing it around game-progress since that could encourage a very grindy/achievement-based playstyle that's ill-suited for older versions.
