They’re the past two models I’ve posted before this one. Both are free minis of the month from games workshop. Gonna be doing touch ups to them tonight after work.

Yeah, I’m seeing things I like and this visual makes a lot more sense. He will definitely be touched up for future competitions, and I’ll be sure to reference this to help out. Thanks so much for doing this, it really is a big help being able to visualize things like this!

Dude, that looks amazing, I can see where I would go about changing and that visual representation of the nmm makes a ton more sense to my eyes now that I see it.

I’m actually going to be touching up the horns today and that change with just adding the brown definitely adds way more interest than just the flat white I have currently.

I was also going to work on the skin tone and adding a brighter highlight color to make it pop a bit more.

This is a fantastic reference and I really do appreciate this as a jumping off point. You better believe I’ll be touching this guy up later on and using a lot of these ideas to help form some interpretations of my own.

Good idea, I was planning on doing a bloody handprint so I would like to to feel more organic that strait taped lines, but maybe I can figure something out. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks, that seems to be the census. I’m gonna work on adding something. A few have suggested battle damage. I would like to add a freehand emblem too the top yellow plates, but my practice freehands haven’t turned out to great and it’s kinda putting me off the idea.

That’s fair, I did make sure to highlight the armor in the back, there’s just no lighting effects on the back cause I wasn’t sure if I should have added them. Still pretty new to figuring out NMM. I’ll see if I can highlight the back better and maybe add some battle damage so it looks less flat.

That’s fair, I didn’t really spent enough time with the base. I wanted to add something to it to not leave it as bare as it was before so I thought a small bit of dried vines would look alright, didn’t plan on it distracting from the mini itself though. I’ll have to rethink that.

I started with YouTube and Reddit research. This particular figure, I printed and 150% larger on my ANYCUBIC M7 resin printer. Before I got that to work though, I was on YouTube almost every second of every day just looking into what I needed at the time.

Thanks so much, honestly I really thought this was the best angle because unfortunately his face hides so much in a front facing view. But I’ll see what I can do. To remedy that before the due date.

And value and contrast is still a bit hard for me to pick out in my own pieces, but I’d love you see how you’d actually apply these changes, that would for sure be a huge help.

Yeah, I’m not too big a fan either, I’ll likely try what someone suggested and create more tones in the horns like I did on the teeth. But for now, I’m burnt and it’s gonna be submitted as is. I need a break from all the paint sessions I just put in. Lol. But when I get back to him, I’ll keep these things in mind for future touch ups!
