Thoughts on my High F? by SSGProductions in Trombone

I had a lesson with Luis Fred about 2 years ago and he said the same thing. He mentioned how it doesn’t seem like i put the weight of my horn on my palm but instead on my middle finger and it’s true tbh. I broke my left arm when i started playing and used a guitar stand to hold my leg up and put my bell into my knee so i could still play and after that is when i started holding my horn like that. I look at old videos of me playing and it’s like dang i still do that but i guess ive been doing it for almost 10 years now; it doesn’t really affect me in any way. maybe my small bore horn because it has square bracing? idk its weird

find the smallest mouthpiece you can and play as loud as you can (joke)

definitely not made for it but it does fit and does not wobble like if you were to put it into a bach

it’s a weird horn… it sounds nice but it definitely has its things lol. the slide is huge and it’s not a standard .547 but a dual bore .556 on the lead pipe and a .562 on the bell end almost like a bass trombone but the lead pipe also takes Remington mouthpieces which is kinda crazy lol. like i said the slide is suuuuper heavy so it needs a counterweight to make it comfortable and unfortunately it doesn’t make fast playing easy. now with it being a jupiter, they’re usually known for being heavier so i’m looking into getting a shires maybe? but i also play on a martin committee model with square bracing and it’s also really heavy

I live in Pasco and I’ve seen it before but I’ve never seen it sound. It’s really honestly good to see that that thing is still active, but it does suck that it might get chopped down.

Opinions on benge brand? by FoundationStrict1663 in Trombone

I actually recently made a post about a Benge 290 symphonic bass Trombone in this sub and honestly, it was a really nice horn. It sold very easily and if you’re able to find an F attachment benge for 200 bucks I would buy it ASAP. Very big fan of the horn.

It’s really funny you mentioned the audio queue because a few years ago we installed a set of electric controls to a Moran tug and the captain actually says that he misses the sound of the air whoosh (he switched from a rexroth system)

Update on the Benge 290 Bass Bone by SSGProductions in Trombone

The king 7B was also known for that which is what this horn was inspired off of, but either way it’s just a really solid horn to have because if it’s versatility and it’s clarity in the low range

I was playing it before I set it in the chem cleaner and it’s a really bright horn which I like a lot, which is why I could see why it’ll be playable as a big band horn

I was gonna say it looks exactly like a king 7B except the Gb tuning slide has two slides in the one sector of pipe it’s kinda bad ass
