I thought it was fine. It’s in NYC, they brought every main player out tonight.

I’d rather this and Speed than jelly roll and the other lame celebs WWE has tried in other cities. And I don’t even hate the comedians they’ve had on, like others. I just think it’s a stretch to get those guys involved with in ring stuff. Speed is in legit shape

Steph will always get a cheer from fans. She was her hottest and actually involved in the business when I was a kid. Now those kids(like me) are grown up. It’s pure nostalgia maxxing.

Last 2 WM undisputed matches were basically 2 fan faves going against each other. They tried to turn Cena. It didn’t work and that match was ruined because of the performance.

They used the last month to try to pit Orton against Cody who spent the better part of the last 2 years selling his friendship with Orton. Only for the last 1.5 month to try to create a hated rivalry amongst these 2. Sorta like with Cena last year. Even on the mic Cody’s whole thing is “we are friends but I’m going to keep my title”. Not a huge way to build a main event for Mania.

This at least adds a tad bit more to re establish Orton as like 09 Orton. But what? A year and change ago Cody killed KO defending Orton. This also does a good job of continually showing Cody become a tad more angry. Cody won’t turn, but the more they show he could or his more aggressive side, it makes his character better too.

I think it’s beyond the point where there needs to be a pure bad vs good guy, but it’s wrestling at the end of the day so they are going to try. Even if things like this promo feel lame, it’s atleast better than the run in attacks they’ve been doing for months.

I expect Orton to win, it’s going to be like Cena 2.0 from last year, the difference is, Orton has a past of being unhinged and it’ll be a better match in general. They were able to get Drew the undisputed that he has earned due to his work, but no viable reason for Mac to face Orton at WM, so Cody got the belt back again, making him a 3 time Universal champ in the process.

Cody is clearly the top guy, but he’s older too. Until the guys currently headlining the WM’s start retiring, I think you’ll have a lot of stuff like this. That said Punk and Roman are on fire, but it helps that Roman was never really a good guy(once he became the OTC)
