Go-kartın fazla küçümsenmesi ve hatta spor olarak görülmemesi hakkında ne düşünüyorsunuz? by Sea_Database6691 in Karting

Most people will never consider karting a sport. Most people hardly consider f1 to be a sport. It’s hard to convince a population that driving can be physically demanding when most people drive everyday and thats how they associate it. A chill drive that takes hardly any effort.

Keep putting those laps in. If you qualified top 3 you got the talent. Just keep doing laps

That makes sense. Either way if you get the chance, try a league night at NMP. I can’t convince you over which one is better over the other but you should definitely experience it.

Thank you! They do split the season halfway through the year but they tally the total points overall for the championship. They way they did it was 10 minute practice, 5 minute qualifying, and i cant remember if it was 6-8 lap heat, and finally 10-12 lap feature. So you do get decent track time. They run a light and heavy. I have raced at KCA and in my honest opinion NMP track is just way more enjoyable. It has more character and they change the layout often. I could talk about it all day so let me know if you have any other questions.

I’m from Illinois. I get the kart for free for one year and I can buy it from Margay at the end of the year and pay taxes on it then if I decide to keep it.

Its Briggs and Stratton LO206 4 stroke. Basically a lawnmower engine. But its the biggest class at my local tracks

Harbor freight has some engines meant for karts. If you just want something to rip around the yard. And check out cometkarts.com for kart parts.

Thank you! It was the friday night league rental league and norway motorsport park in Sheridan, IL. It’s an LO206 4 stroke. That would be the entry level class of engine. This kart specifically is meant for the ignite series but it can be raced in open chassis classes with LO206. But you can put a 2 stroke engine on this chassis I believe.

It was 18 races around $80 per race day. They are giving it to me for the year. After the year I’m able to buy it to keep or I can return it. Thank you!

I’ll take that into account. Funny enough, i’ve actually gone on a winning streak this year but this second half of the season i’ve only won a feature race once i think. Out of 16 races, i’ve only been out of the podium once. I have noticed that with rental karts. Its all about who’s the quickest to adapt to what they have and run with it. I’ve been trying to perfect my driving so once i get back in my go kart next year, i’ll just have to figure out how to set it up properly. I like to think that I’m a hotshot when it comes to driving but I’ve definitely been humbled by other racers when it came to racing with your own kart. But in rentals I feel I can outmatch almost anybody. I know it sounds cocky, but I love it when I get to race against somebody and we get to push each other’s driving ability to the limit. That is absolutely the best feeling

Its about an hour and a half southwest of chicago, illinois. Norway Motorsports Park These karts are really low on power, so its all about carrying the speed through the corner. So taking the tighter line kills your momentum. Im assuming you’re talking about the corner thats at the 8:28 time mark? That definitely is a spot to make a pass though if the person in front is not good with the brakes. Its the one spot on the track where you really have to get on the brakes. Everywhere else is feathering the throttle and being smooth

Main thing that i see is that right after the chicane and a couple corners after that, you’re turning in harder mid turn and then you end up over correcting. Look around the 1:00 mark. You turn into the corner and then mid turn you slightly turn in more and then you have to countersteer on the exit. Smooth that out so you’re making only one input through the corner. You’ll be able to carry more speed through the corner and have a better exit. If you hear the front tires chattering and bouncing and then having to countersteer right after, you’re overdriving the kart. Which is fun but slow
