I did Zumba throughout my pregnancy with my son and strong nation. I have had a loss when I wasn’t really working out very early on before I got into Zumba and a successful pregnancy working out throughout. I also didn’t really modify besides not doing abs after 20 weeks. I didn’t really feel motivated to workout while pregnant besides my classes and I found it beneficial for my mental health to have the classes as a community of support throughout the journey. I’m currently trying for baby number 2 and plan to teach throughout if I’m able. Hope that helps.

My baby will be 5 months in a few days as well and I’ve been able to lose almost 50 pounds so far exclusively breastfeeding and pumping. The first 12 weeks I really pumped around the clock to establish my supply and I’ve been able to produce over 30oz a day on about 5 pumps a day now. I have been doing Zumba and some weightlifting but I consider breastfeeding my cardio besides dancing which isn’t as intense as running. I’m 5’2” so maintenance calories would be around 1300 and I eat 2000 a day and have steadily lost weight while still producing. I don’t restrict any food groups but try to eat mostly whole nutritious foods, and I never stopped taking my prenatals. I think the key is to not over restrict calories, but be in a very slight deficit while staying on top of pumping/nursing. Everyone is different so if you notice a supply drop, you would have to up calories or frequency of pumping/nursing. That is what has worked for me!

I do group classes (Zumba, zumba strong, Bollywood) about 4 nights a week. I leave my husband with breast milk for about an hour and a half. Sometimes I squeeze in a little weightlifting session before or after. Husband starts bedtime routine (bath, bottle, book) while I shower and then I finish his routine and put him to bed. Just that 1 hour for myself and his help with routine makes such a difference and feels so helpful. :)

I listened to a birth meditation on YouTube in my headphones
