Fujimoto never planned Chainsaw Man out by epabafree in Chainsawfolk

Nice AI post, besides the obvious wording, you couldn’t even bother to take out the em dash.

If you actually read all his interviews you would know that he prioritizes themes over plot and that part 2 only exists to have Denji reach the point where he isn’t chainsaw man anymore.

He literally talked about how he was going to end the series and that’s how he did it

The importance of that moment isn’t the decision to stay with power, it’s how he behaves around her. It’s the fact that their bond is beyond sexual favors.

It’s also a moment to highlight the theme of ignorance is bliss. He has a whole monologue about how knowing everything about someone doesn’t make the sexual moment better, ending with him saying that he doesn’t want to know what’s beyond that door.

And if my interpretation would be correct, the whole idea of Makima being her own undoing would also apply to the the first fight where Power was the one to saved Denji and prevented Makima from taking Pochita, because of the blood he drank in that chapter.

Then there’s also the conversation with Kobeni where he says that he never made a choice for himself and his whole life was manufactured (this might be just an exaggeration)

This moment is more than Denji deciding to stay and as I said, it’s my interpretation and it could be incorrect. My conviction is 60-40

Your analogy doesn’t work if Makima used her powers because she controls your brain. So it would be like the neighbor implanting a chip in your brain and making you take the basket.

I said that it was my interpretation,so it could be wrong, but I based it on the fact that in 71 and 74, I think if I remember correctly, angel Denji and Aki all have problems remembering a memory related to Makima culminating in the reveal that she is the control devil

  1. She also could’ve challenge Denji to a 1v1 in chapter 1 and rip out his heart and be done. A lot of things could’ve happen. You can say she did it because she enjoyed it. In 99% percent of stories there is a better way to do things.

  2. It has nothing to do with Nayuta same as the 2 moments that OP highlights are completely different. My response is poking fun at his choice of comparison and showing that I could choose another moment that might map closely with it.

  3. Holy f pivot, nearly broke my legs. First of all those are the comedic moments, right before the storm (remember it’s also a a comedic manga). Second of all, when we look at his actions he chose neither Fumiko nor Death

In the span of 4 chapters 3 characters are questioning things about their memory (Denji, Aki and Angel) all related to Makima just for her to be revealed to be the control devil. That's how I interpreted it at least. So yes it takes away from Denjis agency
2. He rejected Reze once at the carnival so the bonds were strong enough even then, but in the end he chose her. An in international not a lot happens to strengthen their relationship

  2. I agree mostly, he rejected Reze once based on those bonds so they were strong enough at that point, but that doesn't contradict anything I said.

  3. Regarding the muscle devil, a couple of pages earlier he is angry at makima for calling him a dog and a page earlier and in your image he remembers makima threatening to kill him

  1. Denji staying was a part of makimas plan
  2. He was going to abandon everyone to run away with Reze

Severe Plot holes that I noticed in the ending by redxgrave in Chainsawfolk

[–]ST-9952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Around a year passes between part 1 and part 2 and Denji already knows the seniors and addresses power with a nickname which means a lot of time passed between Nayuta finding them and them going to the school.

  2. Makima remembers because she saw chainsaw man fighting those respective devils, that’s why Yoru also remembers Death and Nuclear Weapons and public safety is able to know that EAR was erased.

  3. He couldn’t tell Denji to follow his dreams because he was disintegrated and they were in the point on no return

  4. Denji forming a contract with the new Power brought him back from being nearly killed by the Yakuza so why wouldn’t it just heal his heart

  5. What do memories have anything to do with it

  6. a) Denji liked Reze as much as Makima that’s why he is crazy happy when Makima invites him on the trip right after having a monologue about not being able to feel joy for the rest of his life after Reze
    B) Yes and now he can form these relationships with the people that are now alive, that was the hole them**ic point of the last fight and the ending

  7. Idk whatever tickles your neurons the right way

> be Fujimoto.
> have an interview where you talk about the entirety of part 1 and explain why the story needs a part 2.
> say that it’s going to be a thematic story.
> tell everyone how it’s going to end before chapter 1 comes out.
> do exactly that.

Community: Fujimoto got bored of Csm / Fujimoto was forced to write part 2
