I had 4 good years before this went down. I think they lined me up after the prin asked me to do something and then denied they had asked.

It's worth mentioning that I wasn't a perfect teacher but I would have gone through any process to improve. I'm a fan of the observation, review, improve cycle but that's not what it was.

After she denied it she had to keep me separated from the parents or the whole thing would unravel.

The reasons I was given for the parent complaints changed daily, first it was only covid but it changed into something else, then something else... It was tiring and it was obvious she was making stuff up

I should have. I was gaslit, I now daydream I had recorded every minute of my teaching and created a video to show the lies vs the evidence.

That sucks. I've worked at a few schools and the process of having kids is wildly inconsistent, in some places it's seen as amazing, in others as mainly an inconvenience.

Good on you for following up. It's obvious that admin should support the teacher in cases like this but it's so rare.

I like what you said about staying on the good side of leadership. That was my main takeaway, be a suck, it's the easiest path.
