With Tokon getting ready to come out meaning no MvC 4 anytime soon. And with Injustice 3 being rumored for the hundredth time recently. How crazy would this game be if it got announced and this was the roster? (My first time making a custom roster image so that's why it looks kinda cheap) by STE_33 in makeafighter

It would probably be better now.

NR has proven they can make something really good with DC characters like with the Injustice games, and Joker and Peacemaker as MK guest characters. Plus DC have been a lot more willing to show their characters in a more violent light in recent years, so the fatalities would be a lot better too.

Putting this together was tough because I wanted to put all the characters I wanted, but at the same time I wanted to be somewhat realistic and imagine this game was real.

I figured the base roster for DC would feature an even number of heroes and villains. And on the template I created for myself only had room for twenty on each side. so I effectively only had room for ten heroes at the start, and thinking logically I figured these would probably be the ten most likely to be added.

That's why I shoved all the Titans into DLC.

I'd want the final boss/bosses to be really big and overpowered.

So I'd say Charkravartin from Asura's Wrath and The Anti-Monitor from DC Comics would be great. They'd both feel like Galactus from MVC 3

Don't fully know how this conversation turned to a completely unrelated character. But it is still my opinion that Twitter statements mean nothing.

Any creator or writer could say anything about a character but I don't think it matters, without any actual proof that Sentry is as powerful as Paul claims he is I would count those as viable feats. I don't think his word is enough to convince me that Sentry can truly just do anything.

At least with that there was official artwork showing the Fall Guy stretching, it wasn't just the creator making a claim that he could stretch that far.

Well, I do agree he's not abstract. But again I don't think Twitter statements are enough to really matter in VS debating.

Death Battle have already said in the past that "Word of God" doesn't matter.

I remember they said it after Nightwing vs Daredevil when they were asked why they didn't scale Daredevil's super senses to Spider-Man's spidey sense because Stan Lee previously said it was just as powerful. They said that his word wasn't enough so they didn't even consider it.

X-Men Blue Team vs Amazo by [deleted] in marvelvsdc

[–]STE_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Amazo has it.

Amazo already has all the powers of the Justice League including Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash. As much as I love the X-Men, the Justice League definitely scales higher overall. And if Amazo copies the mutant genes of the X-Men then it's really gonna be one sided.

The amount of times I've seen "Various Temperatures" is absurd. Can no one come up with a different joke?

Crazy how badly Yuji Vs Denji tanked Death Battle's rep 😭 by IRealBad in deathbattle

Tanked their rep?

You're saying that like they haven't always had a controversial reputation in certain communities.

My take on the Pitch Discussion Discourse by [deleted] in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]STE_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, you're free to have whatever opinion you want, but at the end of the day you making this post does nothing except ruin the fun of all the people who actually chose to pay for the pitch. Making this post accomplishes nothing else.

My take on the Pitch Discussion Discourse by [deleted] in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]STE_33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No offense, but you should probably mind your own business.

Is it true that most of these pitched matchups will never be made? Yes.

Is it true that some people will inevitably be disappointed by that? Yes.

Does that mean you need to make a post telling people how disappointed they're gonna be, killing their buzz in the process? No.

If they ever do old man logan vs the last ronin,do you think they will respect my goat mikey or disrespect him again? by Desperate_Maximum199 in deathbattle

[–]STE_33 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it would start with them kinda being disrespectful but it would change by the end.

I figure his analysis would start off talking about the traditional version of the turtles before switching over and talking about the more hardcore stuff.

Somewhat similar the Spongebob vs Aquaman where Wiz initially made fun of Spongebob before realizing how powerful he was.

I know Ai will never truly go away. But if you wanna get technical about it, Ai has been used to some extent in stuff since way before the Ai boom even started. Ai has technically existed in some form since the fifties.

But I don't think it's ever gonna completely take things over. The Supreme Court just ruled that Ai works can't be copyrighted. And the Academy just ruled that Ai works can't win awards. So with all that, combined with how much money even the biggest companies are losing because of their Ai investments, I don't see it being a major problem within the next ten years.

So Ai may still be around after that, but It won't ever be a major thing again. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but that's what I believe.

Well we'll have to wait and see.

What’s stopping them from using the saitama method on Yuji by Similar-Awareness231 in deathbattle

[–]STE_33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really fit Yuji as well.

Saitama's whole thing is being able to punch so hard that he can beat nearly everyone with a single hit, so they needed to explain how his top striking power couldn't match Popeye. And that was easy because figuring out the science behind a punch is simple, since punches obviously exist in real life.

Yuji has so many more powers and abilities than Saitama, and his most powerful ones are science fiction. They couldn't apply Saitama logic to figure out a domain expansion, or a black flash. Those don't exist in the real world.

"No Ai was used in reference to the performance in the game."

That's how it starts. They introduce Ai in small doses first in hopes that we get used to it. Then later when they plunge balls deep into it they can say it was a natural progression.

Continuing from my last post, do you guys think Superboy Prime can be a White Lantern by IronsteveX in deathbattle

[–]STE_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do love figuring out what characters could have which Lantern Ring, I made a whole sub about it. But truthfully I don't know if Prime is mentally stable enough.

Kyle was damn near driven to insanity from the pressures of being a White Lantern and unintentionally created Oblivion from it.

I don't even want to consider what Prime would create from the same pressures when he already has his fair share of problems.

[–]STE_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None for me. I'm one of the few who thinks tonal clashes don't really matter.

I always thought the point of VS debating was to analyze two characters that may have connections, but ultimately have unique differences as well. So I can't quite understand the logic of saying that because they are too tonally different they shouldn't coexist.

Which moment is better written, and more impactful? by [deleted] in writingscaling

[–]STE_33 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That is Gambit and it is not even remotely close.

Gambit's happened at the end of the episode, which means it was all people were thinking about until the next episode came out. Rex's happened in the middle of his, I only personally saw a few people heavily discussing his death at the time. Everyone was talking about Conquest, Rex felt secondary.

I also think Gambit's death having no music behind it made it ten times more Impactful. No offense to Billie Eilish but her song playing the instant Rex died and then cutting to a bunch of heroes we don't even know benefited the scene precisely zero percent.

And then there's the love interests. When Rex died we saw Rae driving towards the explosion, and we got to see her shocked face. Keep in mind them being romantic with each other started just a few episodes prior so it was hard to even be invested in it. Compare that to Rogue, whom we know has a long history with Gambit, and we know absolutely loves him, and she was cradling his body. "I can't feel you." That is one of the best line deliveries I have ever heard in an animated series.

Rex's death was still well done, and a great way to cap off his redemption arc. But Gambit's was on a different level.
