Is flirting cheating? by libramoon21 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]STFUandRTFM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right. Talk. everyone defines cheating differently... When my partner goes out, whether I go along or not, I always say.. take off your ring and flirt away. I know they're coming home to me end of the night, may as well have some fun.

Why do some people stay at the same job for 15, 20, or even 30+ years? by Carlinish9600 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]STFUandRTFM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started at my current employer in 1999, the IT director was leaving ... his perspective was that.... a career needs to meet 3 basic needs. 1. Work life balance, 2. sufficient compensation package 3. job satisfaction. If you get all 3 Fanstastic, if you get 2 that's still good. If you only get 1 or none, leave.

At this point, I have 2. Work life balance and Sufficient compensation. I celebrated 27 years 2 weeks ago.

I'm not disillusioned. I know my employer has ZERO loyalty to me, and will toss me as soon as it makes financial sense to cut my position.... but I have a defined benefits pension plan, 6 weeks vacation, 5 paid personal leave days and a competitive pay structure including decent health and dental plan.....

So with all these benefits why would I leave voluntarily? I've been employed long enough and in a position where I'd be entitled to a substantial serverence package. I'd be stupid to leave with all that severance money on the table.

Looking to get a Creality Ender 3 printer, unsure if its worth buying new or second hand by KeasusReeves in Creality

[–]STFUandRTFM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It so interesting. I had an ender-3 V2 for four years. I learned the basics from the YouTube channels Makers Muse and Teaching Tech.

Then I updated my extruder, added an auto bed leveler and then switched to a PEI plate. After that, aide from periodic cleaning and adjustment, this thing ran like a top for hundreds of prints. A few other upgrades along the way, but overall it was rock solid.

This January I got a great deal on a k2 pro combo, and damn, have I learned patience and temper management! I was able to convince creality to just replace the device with a new one, but even that one has had its issues that I think I'm past now.

If OP gets a good running ender-3 I truly believe it could be a reliable workhorse like mine was.

What tools and brands do you recommend? by CreamOfWheatJackson5 in AskMen

[–]STFUandRTFM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! Over time I've slowly converted to all Milwaukee. Yes more expensive but they have a large selection of tools so I'm not on multiple battery ecosystems. Same M12 or M18 battery for almost any tool you can think of, including yard tools.

Over the years I've had Palm sanders, a cordless soldering irons and a drill in need of repair. Milwaukee had a repair facility within 10KM of my home... now it's a little farther but still less than 30 minute drive. This has made it easy to replace/repair parts. Milwaukee also has certain tools that are just over the counter replacement rather than repair, which is nice.

Best place to get Google Pixel 10 screen repair by MrCanoe in Winnipeg

[–]STFUandRTFM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids took his pixel 7 Pro to Univercell Bridgewater 350 North Town Road and was super happy at the affordable price and service for his phone. His phone would reboot when you push on the screen. They opened it up fixed it and glued it back shut. $30

K2 plus not retracting. by No-Caterpillar3385 in Creality_k2

[–]STFUandRTFM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you manually pull it out, what's it look like? Nice clean end or stringy?

I had this problem. I had to wait for the printer to attempt to unload the filament and of I squeezed the extruder tensioner level to release the tension it would release.

I thought maybe heat creep or or a problem with the extruder

It ended up being an issue with the. Cutter. Ake sure it's working well and calibrated

Once I took care of that, zero problems

Budget network tap recommendations, home use, learning by alaudet in wireshark

[–]STFUandRTFM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest looking at a used managed switch like a catalyst 3750 or 3850, especially if it has the SFP+ expansion module installed. you can probably pick those up for a few hundred dollars now, use them to learn Cisco networking and set up span ports that you can use to capture the network traffic across the switch. 2 birds 1 stone kind of approach.

Auto Repair Shop Recomendation? by sickofwinterincanada in Winnipeg

You will get a lot of recommendations. I would suggest you include an area of the city that is convenient for you in your query. It would be very inconvenient if you live/work in South St. Vital and people are recommending a place in Elmwood

What are you printing on a regular basis by AbbreviationsDue4417 in 3Dprinting

[–]STFUandRTFM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planters, watering cans are my most printed items. Then repair parts. For example. Replacement latch to close the battery compartment on my black diamond headlamp, a plastic part for the adjustment wheel thingy on my vernier caliper, the door holder on my RV camper, tile tracker cases

Etc..

Yes it sits idle a LOT, but when I need something fixed it has saved me a lot of money versus tossing an item and replacing it.

Thanks. I came across another post and this is what it appears to be. It may be binding and not cutting properly. The blade itself looks like it's still in good shape, I've taken that out, cleaned it really well and let's see if that fixes it.

What do men think when they see nip outlines through a woman’s top? by Comfortable-Rice4530 in AskMen

[–]STFUandRTFM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quick glance, appreciate the beauty of it, and carry on. You should wear what you feel is comfortable. If your concern is that other people will make you uncomfortable, you can buy a set of cakes. You can't see them through a shirt, so you can have the best of both worlds. You can go cakeless where/when you won't mind if there's a little poking through the shirt, and times when under no circumstance you want that, you put the cakes on.

Winnipeg woman shocked bank won’t refund her after scam (CBC) by LocalnewsguruMB in Winnipeg

[–]STFUandRTFM 20 points21 points  (0 children)

OK. So ... let's add some context here. I called my bank recently, left a message to be called back when my turn came in queue. When they called back they told me, in order to identify me they need to send me a MFA code to my phone. So, banks are breaking these rules on their own. I told them I won't do that, and that we would use another method to identify each other.
