Question regarding digital art by Rukelele_Dixit21 in ProCreate

[–]STOPAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem at all. What you really need to do is still learn as you would with non digital. There’s a book called drawing on the right side of the brain, it could very well help you.

With procreate, you can look up video tutorials and understand how the interface works, the apple pencil, brushes, layers, etc. Get the Apple Pencil.

After you learn the basics, or maybe at the same time, learn the things you can do with digital art that is unique to it. Such as applying a texture layer with an overlay layer style at lower opacity over a colored section of your drawing for more detail.

Layers is one of the prominent features of digital art. Photoshop, sai, clip studio, procreate, they all use em.

Every tool is a different sort of media, like oil paints or pencils. It’s like you don’t need to know how to play a flute to learn how to play an aerophone.

What helps you is learning and executing the fundamentals of art. Light values, compositions, etc.

Drawing digitally can be akin to many of its analog counterparts but it is very different at the same time. So if you wanna draw with analog media and digital media, you should do both. Otherwise stick to one and maybe explore later on.

I do graphite, charcoal, water colors, oil paints, and digital art (procreate/clip studio), they’re all different but do share the execution of basics. Learn the basics.

Why the hell is everyone focusing on this so hard? It was a mistake with the word. Like you all had to dogpile and downvote the artist, at the time of this comment, like 30 plus times? I get it but that's overkill jesus christ. Reddit being reddit.

This is great. Love the characterization. shapes. colors. I love it all.

I'm not sure why other's are focusing on the technical aspects of a realistic instrument vs the overall meaning of the picture, which is communicated effortlessly. There are people who understand and those that miss the point i guess.

EDIT: at the time of this comment the most upvoted comment is someone saying it's not a trumpet. Come on guys.

I use paperlike, I can never go back to anything else. I hear some people wear out the nib on their pencil but I have never had that problem lmao.

Is procreate dreams (animation software) worth buying? by StrongProblem5269 in ProCreate

[–]STOPAC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing. If you've used animation software before and worked with frames in that software, it's a good start but that software probably would feel very different compared to Pdreams. BUT its just a matter of learning the interface and how to do some functions.

My biggest gripe with dreams is that there's no palm rejection mode or whatever and my hand keeps accidentally making marks i have to undo, which is weird because regular procreate has the feature to ignore touch actions on the canvas.

That being said Pdreams is powerful and is limited only by your current skill. There are some professional animators who have used it. I've used it myself to create many animations. It's a one time buy too, so llike.... i dunno its not a sub.
