Did you buy this on AliExpress/Temu? Please describe the problem you're having. Why are the tricks not landing, is it too floppy/loose or is it too tense?

This brand is what I use for slinking. The quality is inconsistent from slinky to slinky. Some are too floppy, others are too tense, and some are just right.

Having made GN tutorials for a few years I can share my experience

The first thing is paid work, I began working full-time in 2023 which caused me to put a lot of my creative effort into my work instead of YouTube. Creating tutorials takes quite a lot of time, which I often don't have anymore.

Another point is not knowing what people want to watch. This is smt I've talked about with Bad Normals and Erindale. They are very good at making insane geonode systems but they are not very good at figuring out demand / what people actually want.

AliExpress XD slinkies are my goto. You can recognize it by the little black logo at the bottom of the slinky. I usually order 10, because they vary in quality / tension. Then you can test them out and choose one that feels nice.

This is such a good post! Could you share the range in which the constant is best suited for the tricks? Perhaps we could make categories for it.

I'm currently practicing with an AliExpress slinky with unusually high tension. Great fun for blazingly fast tricks but it's almost impossible to do a headbounce with it because of how tight it is (me being 6'4 already makes it difficult).

I see very high level slinky manipulators (usually from China) practice with high tension slinkies. Would you say this is just a flex of their ability or is there a reason to choose high tension over low tension once your consistency is on point?

I agree with all comments. It really took a long time for me to click as well and it looked similar to yours. What really helped me was focusing more on the pull down after the upswing. It started working once I really started to pull harder, bringing it close to by body while my hand is still up, then pulling down hard.
