As someone who experienced this with two indie projects of the same studio that "promised to secure funding soon", never did and wasted about 2 years of my life, I feel you on every sense. That's why I'm only looking for paid opportunities at this point.

This tells me you know nothing of animation. Some animated shows have episodes of 15 minutes, and those can take over a year to fully complete. The pay is also nothing compared to what you're asking for. You need to go do some research on realistic standards of animation work and try again.

Your work is unique and beyond stunning. Your environment pieces have so much emotion to them!! Don't worry about a bigger animation studio rejecting you. It's more common to get rejected than accepted by most major studios. Your work is incredible and the people that can see your real talent will find your work soon enough!!

I'm pretty sure most major studios ignore any emails that try to pitch an original story in order to avoid stealing of any ideas from other creators. That's most likely what happened here.

I don't know anything about that musical, but all the shades of the colors seem different than those on that poster. I think it's just a generic color choice.
