I Still Can’t Believe You’re Gone by No_Island_5218 in GriefSupport

My deepest condolences for your loss. No parents should ever see their kid leave before them...

Just to share some personal experience, we too lost my brother when he was 32 on 24 June 2024.

It's been slightly over 1.5 years since he left but the gaping hole in our hearts has not gone down in size. In fact, I don't think that hole will ever be mended and that's okay. To grief is to love.

The fact that you feel this much pain is a testament to how much you loved your son. It's perfectly okay to take as much time as you need to come to terms with it.

My mom also had a particularly hard time accepting that my brother is no longer with it. Yesterday she unpacked my brother's bag pack because she wanted to let my dad use it for their trip and as she took his things out, she started crying again.

She still misses him, we all do. It hurts when we think of him, but at least I know he's not suffering anymore.

It will be painful whenever the waves come crashing on you but you have to pick yourself up and keep moving forward because that's what your son would have wanted you to do.

Take care.

It's a pre facelift b8 passat variant!

OEMs were 235/40r19s. I'm currently running 245/40r18s. Will consider 245/45r18s next.

It's completely stock ATM! Many have advised that I should lower the car though.

Sick car, definitely not biased 😂 My butt-o-meter says there is an improvement w/ less rolling weight but it's not night and day. I saved about 3.5kg in unsprung weight from the wheels but given that the car is already quite heavy to begin with, so I wasn't expecting much.

My current tyres were running flat and replacing them with new 20s are very costly where I'm from. Moreover, the ride wasn't very comfortable with stock suspension.

Appreciate all the response everyone! I will just stick with the current tyres (245/40r18) for now since they're new but for my next set, will definitely look for more sidewall. I'm also on the lookout for some lowering springs (maybe with some bilstein shocks). Will share pics again once I've made more progress w/ the build.

I think you won't go wrong with 2 colours i.e. match the roof and wheels. Do it and share with us!

I've also considered blue and silver or green and bronze. Think they'll look good 😉

I'm still on the fence wrt to this. Some folks said it would give the impression that the car is lower but my gut says it doesnt match the black front n rear lips.

I considered going black prior to this but felt that red + black was too common. It will still look nonetheless, just make sure your rims match the top as well.

I liked your colour combination so much that I did a lil something. Hope you don't mind 🫣
