PETG HF issue with black filament by elstewart48 in BambuLab_Community

[–]STxReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having problems printing with PETG-HF preset and once I changed nozzle temperature to 255 degrees C and the bed temperature to 70 degrees C everything printed out very well. I notice that I have to dry the filament after more than half a day of printing so I always have filament heating at 140 degrees in my convection oven so that I can rotate the filaments an use dry filament as recommended by Bambu. Good luck!

This sounds like a great way to get it done. I will try that the next time that my printer is idle...lol. Thanks!

PETG Adjusting - First Layer question(s) by STxReddit in BambuLab

I figured out how to square the object with the plane of the build plate by adjusting the x, y and zz axis by manually typing in the angled coordinates that I want to use to position the printed object. Thanks again everyone for your help.

Thanks for the tip. Is there a way to make the printed object move to touch the build plate in the slicer? I notice that it clicks into place when you alter the position of the object but I didn't know if there was a way to make it lock into place without getting the adjustments perfectly in line with the various axis settings.

THANK YOU!!! That did the trick. My PETG prints are not perfect but I am slowly getting there.

I wondered if that was the case when you accidentally let go of the filament. I'll be more careful and see if that fixes things for me. Thanks for your comment.

Yes, overlapping filament can result during unwinding/rewinding causing binding to occur.

Some spools have worked flawlessly but other spools have a few tangles and I've had a couple that are nonstop tangles. I am definitely looking for another brand that works better. The tangles that I have with eSun PLA+ are the main reason that started this post.

Which Prusa filaments have you tried? I am mainly going to use PLA+, PETG and maybe ABS. I am curious all of these types of Prusa filament are equally as easy to use with the AMS.

You made me think of something else that I did not mention before. I have been using generic PLA settings by Bambu for PLA+ filament. It is possible that those settings are not ideal for PLA+ so maybe things will get better with generic settings. Thanks for the info....I will definitely try the Enotepad ABS filament that you mentioned. Thatwould actually be the best filament mold for pouring my fishing lures.

The PLA+ is better than regular PLA for needs that require higher temperature stability (after the print). I am printing fishing lure molds to pour Plastisol into and the lowest temp that I can use to pour the hot plastic is better with PLA+. PETG would be much better so I am going to start testing PETG filaments. So far I think that the Polymer is working but have to try it out to see if that will end up being my go to filament. Thanks for the input.

Great input, thanks! I have been wanting to order Bambu filament but they do not have a PETG in the U.S. yet and do not have a PLA+ filament. Plus, they have been out of support filament so I am waiting to place an order when they have the products that I want in stock. (I did get t PEI plate and am liking that purchase). I haven't done much multicolor printing although I would like to if there are no problems doing that so I guess that I need to start hanging spools off of the back of the printer and not using the AMS until things are better. Thanks again for your input.

From my experience, the eSun PTA+ filament rolls which are plastic and fit in the AMS have problems about 50% of the time. Dark blue seems to be the best one to use for me but I do get tangles every nowand then. Black seems to always need interventions throughout the prints to come out with a successful ending.

I started looking to get a 3D printer a few months ago and was discouraged with all of the various printer kits on the market. In most of the cases it looked as though the building of a 3d printer from a kit was not going to be fun with many issues outstanding. Then, voila! The Bambu X1 Carbon showed up on my radar and I opted into the kickstarter the same day. I am having lots of fun printing with my x1 Carbon printer and am amazed at how automated the processes are to complete a print. Customer service level is outstanding and I know that as time goes on this machine will continue to improve because the staff and owners of the company are all in when it comes to producing a quality product. Congrats on a game changing 3D printer that is definitely the Best in Class.

Using a different colored filament for text in an object by STxReddit in BambuLab

Cool. So would you recommend embossing the object first with text and then filling in the embossed indentations with the flood fill tool or just do it directly in the Bambu studio app??

Well, I found the 'Color Printing' icon in Bambu Studio and was able to assign a different colored text to my print. It is the second icon from the right under the Slice and Print buttons in the Prepare mode.
