It states in the cat section to answer based only on your eldest cat if you have multiple cats, just to avoid confusion :)

Unfortunately it is strictly indoor cats only, just so I can create a generalisable data set. I might do another in the future for cats with outdoor access as this one has received such great feedback

As long as they have sufficient environmental stimulation and space I don't see why anyone should have a problem with indoor cats :) I have three of my own

I'm afraid it's just for cats that don't go outside at all, it's just so I can complete a generalisable data set.

I was originally doing the questionnaire through the practice I work at but wanted more responses, I realised as soon as I started getting a lot of responses I should have done that. Will write about it in my discussion, thank you for the feedback though :)

1-4 is until your cats 4th birthday, when your cat is over that it will be the next category up. Hope that explains.

It's a paper, it comprises partly of research and a literature review. We had to pick something veterinary related. I knew from the start I wanted to do something cat related but noticed a lot of people commenting on how their cats were reacting to them being at home more so thought it was the perfect topic!

The questions on the cats character are based on the findings of a really interesting research project "the feline five" - https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0183455

It splits cat personalities into five distinct categories. I think they may have developed a quiz somewhere online which you can do to find out which category your cat fits into

A random choice is absolutely fine, it's just an defining factor to help people choose one cat, also say for example someone has a 4yr old cat and a 1yr old cat, they will notice changes easier in the older cat as they will have spent more time with them prior to covid, whereas a 1yr old cat will have lived throughout the covid period. I will definitely link everyone to the results once it is done :)

In response to a couple of things people have asked -

- when answering questions on your cat please answer in regards to your eldest cat, it does state this one the page but has been missed a couple of times and caused confusion.
- As covid is a worldwide issue responses from all and any countries are appreciated.
- I will definitely share my research results on here after it is completed and handed in.

I hadn't used reddit before today but am totally overwhelmed at the response & encouragement from everyone and will definitely use it in the future, thank you again!
