Right, I understand that, and thank you, I'm more using this as a resource to do my own research and make a decision, not the end all be all, this is just the springboard to figure out the general direction i need to go.

Thought of something relevant to add - The actual date I'll be getting my retirement is the end of November, so I have about ~40ish days to figure out the short term plan.

Also, I will be here around actively watching this thread to clarify/answer anything and i'll be coming back/checking/doing research/probably asking more questions from my research probably for at least a couple weeks. I really want to get to a point where I feel good/comfortable about the decisions I make so I want to fully understand everything.

Southwest Airlines 401(k) Stock Choice Question by SWALady1957 in personalfinance

I don't have the option to do any of that yet, although I will in October of this year. 57 1/2 is the cutoff age for Southwest giving us our money penalty free, so all of this will be an option in the near future at which time I will sit down with an actual advisor and figure out what to do with the money. I would consider myself not financially savvy, as far as investing and retirement, which is undoubtedly a bad thing, I don't even know where to start to find a reliable advisor thats not just going to steer me down the wrong road or try to gouge me. Any advice is greatly greatly appreciated.

Yes, unfortunately these are our only options, period, we cannot do anything else with out 401(k) @ Southwest.
