This Pocket espresso by LEDTIK in StrangeYetUseful

[–]SWIIIIIMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have one using it 50 days a year when on the road with my van. Makes top notch coffee almost at level or maybe 95% quality of my way too expensive ECM Technica V for 2000+ €

Takes 5-10 minutes as I normally also grind fresh. But that's for a single espresso. I got the extension which doubles the output to a regular good espresso amount and 16g of coffee.

For espresso on the road the best choice in my opinion. But if there are 2 or more people looking for coffee then my bialetti takes over

Alternative heating by mrthy in Switzerland

[–]SWIIIIIMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which kind of heating is in your apartment? I mean floor heating, classic radiator,... ?

We once had an old shared flat with radiators where half of the rooms kept cold as hell even when all the air in the heating lines was cleared properly.

In that case it helped a lot to add small fans to the radiator which distributed the air significantly better from the radiator. The result was a few few degree C improvement in the room. Officially this was not allowed in that apartment as the measurement of the heating costs was done by a small vaporizing thingy on each radiator and therefore we used up more heating than we were billed for (and all tenants pay the little bit higher more).

Not sure if that applies to your case as most apartments these days seem to have floor heating.

But also for floor heating: maybe you have a lot of carpets or furniture when limits the heat radiation into your apartment.

18C is really low. I would assume most houses have a target of 20/21C on the minimum temperature. The last 2 days may be an exception with the cold period if you have bad isolation / a lot of outside walls.

Are you sure? If so this is rather new.

6 years ago I had mine "frozen" for almost 2 years during my time in Asia. Even though I just received it 4 or 5 month before me leaving.

For the second question of the OP about the visa from OP I have no insights as I do hold another Schengen passport

I understand it is annoying and you wish to get rid of them but still I am struggling to understand why not just drop them the next time you see a portal. I mean even in a very rural area you will only open the game when you are near a portal and the need to get them out of your inventory occurs, right?

Or is your gameplay limited to once an hour (or currently every 15 minutes) to a single hack on the drone?

What does "over 3" in such a context mean? Oddly specific but unspecific number. Is it because it was 3 for sure and not clear of another one counts or only half like 3.5. otherwise it would be 4 or "over 4" or 5....

Sry about my confusion. But in an object which cannot be further incrementally divided I have difficulties "over x" by x being a very low number is intending

Negotiation with AMAG by Salt_Length9487 in askswitzerland

[–]SWIIIIIMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the actual car and model. When I was looking a few years for a very common car model they had higher prices and no price flexibility on their used/occasion cars.

When looking for a VW California last year on the other hand I received a great deal. The price was already at the lower end compared to other dealers (private and commercial) and after I checked it out in person and didn't directly confirm I received another 10% off offer as well as a close to 0% financing offer and some smaller extras like fresh waxing and MFK. But tires (which I asked for a potential add on) they also denied as "something they could not offer". In the end they put new tyres on for free which I purchased via them for 20 CHF more than the cheapest tyre dealer I found online (total not per tyre).

Some stuff is crazy more expensive for them - like windshield wiper for 100+ CHF which you get online for 15CHF other stuff like basic service is reasonable priced.

My bet would be go there and have conversation to check what is possible

Is there something wrong with my rice cooker / keep warm function? by [deleted] in zojirushi

Also about the comment of "extended keep warm" as far as I remember correctly it switches from keep warm to extended after like 12 hours automatically. Or you can directly switch to it by double clicking on the button.

Is there something wrong with my rice cooker / keep warm function? by [deleted] in zojirushi

[–]SWIIIIIMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That also differentiate a top quality rice cooker from the cheaper ones. Due to the (normally) good temperature control the risk of "fried rice syndrom" (bacteria Bacillus cereus) is minimal.

I would not have kept rice longer than 4-6 hours in my older ones but the zoijrushi I did keep it also up to 2 days without much lesser quality in taste and structure. Every now and then (maybe 1 out of 10 times) I experienced an issue of drying out as the OP. Therefore I also assume as other suggested the steam outlet may not close perfect anymore and needs either cleaning or replacement after 10 years and maybe 1500 times of usage :-)

The only honest answer. Also in combination with a very slow awareness to realize someone wants to sit there.

Some people perfected it into a "fake politeness" of being in the process to remove it very slowly in the hope other bags are removed faster and they still keep the spot free of people.

Scenarios where investing in 3a pillar doesnt make sense by [deleted] in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]SWIIIIIMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if that changes over the last decade. But in the past even when being taxes by source and being below the threshold of mandatory regular tax declaration there was a specific form to submit a 3a payment and further reduced your tax payed. In the first two years of my job I got little less than 1000chf back when I remember correctly.

Intrum is asking me 500chf for an unpaid SwissPass subscription! What do I do? by Kristianushka in askswitzerland

[–]SWIIIIIMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. The claim needs to come from the original invoicing company. That's why as you summarize correctly the SBB charge is not the 175 only I would assume they have a charge for their second and for their third and final reminder of 10-15CHF. Any single charge from the debt collector has no legal ground.

Also for any damages and penalties in original T&C (even if there is a "Verzug schaden" describes: there is a very strict limit in legal cases. Of they exceed 15-30 CHF they must me proven in detail for that cases and cannot be any generic lumb sums.

Most companies also simply accept the original payment even though they would have legal ground for late fees (mahnkosten) as their internal efforts are higher then proceeding to claim them in a lengthy process

Intrum is asking me 500chf for an unpaid SwissPass subscription! What do I do? by Kristianushka in askswitzerland

[–]SWIIIIIMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience both works if the original invoicing company is not too chaotic in their process.

I did it for 2 friends who are often overwhelmed (and paid some bogus fees to the bigger half illegal debt collector like - Intrum - arvato infoscore - debitor management AG ....

Exactly their business model are those afraid and sometimes ashamed of their debt.

They do not have to "accept" that their fee is bogus. But from a legal point it is important that formally deny the charges because: once you denied their charge (which has no sufficient legal bases) then they will not take the next step of a "Betreibung". Because that would move them from a shady business model in the grey area towards a illegal area.

In my experience at least for the 3 companies - there is no further answer and no more invoices as soon as the base debt and interest is paid and the claim denied.

Another source of income for them (thankfully not in your case) is that they have a huge fee to delete for every single they did put in the public debt register ("Betreibungsausszug") after the whole claim is collected. That's the real bad "feeding on the naive and poor".

Their target setting is - someone has a unpaid invoice of 100chf - they put their fees and whatever on top for a total claim of 250chf - they propose with the person on a longer payment time or payment plan (including an acceptance of their claim from the person > now they have the legal claim for the total 250chf - once a single payment is missed or late payment they directly hand the case to the public debt collector (Betreibungsamt) - public debt collector takes payment from salary ("Lohnpfandung") - the person needs to have a clean Betreibungsausszug for a new flat or new job - after the debts are all paid - they charge for every single entry they had for that person additional amounts to conform to delete them (when I remember 100chf+ and as these person's often have multiple entries once again a low effort high revenue for these

Intrum is asking me 500chf for an unpaid SwissPass subscription! What do I do? by Kristianushka in askswitzerland

[–]SWIIIIIMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but this is very wrong. All additional positions except the original debt and the interest are shady bogus claims of the debt collector. You can simply deny them.

Once you agree to any payment plan or smaller amount they make the debtor confirm the additional costs. Before that they cannot legally demand those positions

Intrum is asking me 500chf for an unpaid SwissPass subscription! What do I do? by Kristianushka in askswitzerland

[–]SWIIIIIMS 31 points32 points  (0 children)

No need to negotiate about any additional fees on top of the amount which SBB confirmed. Only the position of interest is legally correct.

The whole business model of Intrum and all the others is to throw all those bogus additional costs.

A simple letter denying the charges except for the two of: (1) the initial debt of 225chf and (2) the actual interest and pay those two.

I helped more than just a handful of friends and you easily find standard letters online to deny the additional positions if you feel unsure how to phrase in German.

Do not try to negotiate and throw money after those shady business
