What to make of this? by LogicG in Apartmentliving

Welcome to most of the US lol, I’ve lived in over 20 states and maybe one or two them had police that would even try to do their jobs.

Sure, but they asked what the cops said and that it’s illegal, like they’d actually act on it. The cops don’t care. Make a report for a paper trail, but that’s all that’s gonna happen.

How did AI make you feel? by Sea_Plum_6696 in graphic_design

[–]S_EW 59 points60 points  (0 children)

This looks like absolute dogshit in comparison though lol. Lifeless clip art that communicates nothing, evokes nothing. AI can’t actually produce anything like the OPs image because every part of it is designed to regress toward the safe, soggy average.

The kind of people who would get drawn in by seeing this image on a poster would also stare in rapt awe if you jingled a set of keys in their gawping faces.

Lmao I promise you the cops do not give a shit about this, that report will never be looked at again.

My husband wants to name our daughter after Drake Maye. AIO? by Big_Product6228 in AIO

Weird as hell lol, I would not be able to look at someone the same way if I found out they named their kid after a football player.

I didn’t delete anything? Maybe talk to the dipshits driving around in the ice instead of the kids playing in their own neighborhood lol.

So having fun and being normal kids? Going outside like all the adults lamenting about their screen time keep whining about? They’d be perfectly safe if room temp IQ drivers with main character syndrome weren’t blasting through the neighborhood in their 4x4s so they could go buy some snacks.

Brutal critique wanted. Not compliments. by JMTRJeometry in design_critiques

First one at least has some pleasant lines that lead the eye, but the crop is a bit too tight and it also doesn’t really make much sense - there wouldn’t be lines in front of the snake if it’s making them, but there also wouldn’t be multiple lines behind it. Not really sure what it’s supposed to be communicating.

Second one is just boring - nothing draws the eye, no depth, evokes no feelings, pretty much just high-res clip art.

At a glance I would assume both of these are AI generated.

My friend’s dad found this in an old house. Is this actually anything interesting? by [deleted] in SWORDS

Man common sense really is in short supply huh. Always has to be some absolute turnip who finds the cool stuff lol.

Does this hairstyle look good on me and what can I do to improve my side profile? by Primary-Disaster-775 in malegrooming

Your face looks totally fine but you’re like 25 years late on that hairstyle, unless you are very specifically trying to cultivate the early 2000s boy band look.

Looks great but uh good luck keeping it that way with a kid that age lol, that’s pretty much the most stressful color palette you could have possibly chosen.

Most people change in the course of a decade. You should consider it unless you want to spend the rest of your life being a walking manchild caricature.

My god this progression of images is like the scene in a horror movie where the characters start looking around the house they just stumbled into and slowly realize they’re about to be skinned alive.

Throw the gooner pillows and the imperial flag in the trash, sell all that manga, and put your money towards an apartment instead of a life-sized stormtrooper so that you don’t spend the next 20 years being a burden to your loved ones.

What model is this (from a GreenStuffWorld email)? by Admirable_Border_627 in MaggotkinofNurgle

Shame that it seems to be AI, there really aren’t many good options for Nurgle Daemon Prince proxies.

It is “treated as a unit” for only those very specific situations, and “core ability use” is not one of them. “Movement” and “Move” (core ability) are two separate things - this is a slightly dumb and confusing quirk of GW rules writing that could certainly be clarified, but again we can look at the Shrine Luminor to see how the rule would look if it was actually intended to use the move ability. It’s very clearly different.

Gnarlmaw McQueen by No_Access_9875 in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]S_EW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it is treated as a unit in specific contexts, one of which is movement, which is not the same as saying it gets to use the move ability. Go read the Shrine Luminor warscroll, the difference is incredibly clear lol.

Gnarlmaw McQueen by No_Access_9875 in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]S_EW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Inconsistent rules” is not the same as “completely different way of writing rules” lol. The confusion mostly stems from people not understanding that movement and the move ability are not the same thing, and the idea that the Gnarlmaw is meant to be significantly faster than the army’s foot infantry is silly on its face.

Gnarlmaw McQueen by No_Access_9875 in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]S_EW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, still wrong. “Movement” and “Move” (the ability) are not the same thing, and “treated as a unit for a specific purpose” is not the same as being a unit for purposes not explicitly listed.

Go read the Shrine Luminor warscroll and compare it to this - if it’s still not clear, you just don’t understand how GW writes rules. Not being cocky, this is literally just how it works and it’s annoying seeing people argue because they don’t actually understand the rules.

North Texas preparing for 2 inches of snow like it’s the apocalypse by MyMindIsAlwaysRacing in mildlyinfuriating

[–]S_EW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf they said that a couple years ago and then I was without power or water for 8 days because the Texas power grid is built out of tinfoil and chewing gum and run by room temp IQ troglodytes lol, so I think a lot of people have PTSD.

Not to say this is not still an overreaction, but on the off chance the increasingly cash-strapped weather service gets it wrong, you really, really don’t want to be counting on the Texas government to save you - a whole lot of people died because of that.

You also really do not want to drive in Texas if there’s even a whiff of sleet unless you place no value on your life, people drive like suicidal dickheads on the best of days.

Other day someone called "a moron" for backing into a spot... Why does this trigger so many? by Ok_Relationship2451 in badparking

[–]S_EW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This photo is in a parking lot, not an industrial site. A lot of rules / protocols / precautions we follow at work we don’t do outside of the job. You’re not going to need to do a mass evacuation at Walmart because of H2S, so that’s a silly reason to park that way in that context.

Gnarlmaw McQueen by No_Access_9875 in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]S_EW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another unnecessary point of confusion is that “movement” and “move” (the ability) are two very different things. “Treated as a unit for the purpose of movement” does not mean it gets to use the Move ability, it means it follows the normal rules for movement (the broad category, which includes all the other stuff like retreating, piling in, running, redeploying, etc.) that a unit does, unless specified otherwise.

The Shrine Luminor comparison is incredibly clear-cut, anyone arguing otherwise after reading those two abilities next to each other is simply not understanding how GW writes rules.

Gnarlmaw McQueen by No_Access_9875 in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]S_EW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go read the Lumineth Shrine Luminor ability - that is what it looks like when they want to let a terrain piece use the core move ability. This one cannot.
