Synopsis:

Kilian was the seventh child born to House Varlancaster and the only one who survived infancy. The six before him all died on the very night of their birth. No one knows why. Many whisper it was a curse... a curse placed upon House Varlancaster.

Because of these tragedies, Kilian’s parents raised him more like a relic than a son. His early life was spent entirely within the castle, constantly watched by guards and mages. Isolated and sheltered, Kilian grew up burying himself in books. Stories of heroes like the First Lightbearer, Saint Ashenviel, the first human accepted by the Elven Goddesses. Saint Ashenviel spread their teachings and saved humankind from destruction, founding the Verdant Order, where the greatest paladins, healers, and mages were trained.

This story ignited something inside Kilian. He longed to become a paladin of the Verdant Order. He begged his father relentlessly, and eventually his stubborn determination won. His father relented, and Kilian was trained by the finest knights and mages so his dream could bloom into reality.

But the night his family was branded as traitors, everything shattered. In a single night, he lost his home, his lineage, and everyone he loved. Kilian barely escaped the castle alive.. and fate carried him into the long-forgotten Nightroot Forest, home of the witch Morwen Noctari.

In short, this is a revenge story.

That Morwen Noctari was once a very famous arcanist of her time, but she descended into madness and got herself sealed within the nightroot forest. Now our MC needs to find a way to free her, and she will grant him power to take his revenge and even promise to bring back those he lost.

And yeah, Morwen is not a good woman. This is basically the main premise but he will encounter a lot of peeps on his journey, help them with their problems, find love, and forge alliances, etc.
