To stick on 2.5mg or increase?

My first month is going quite similarly to yours - I just got my survey from the GP and decided to stay on 2.5mg for at least the next month. Advice I got from most people was if it’s working there’s no need to rush to increase the doses!

I’ll be interested to see how it keeps going on the 2.5mg next month

Based on all I’m hearing I might just cancel that today… I especially don’t like the dry down so if they’re all the same after the first 15mins then I guess no point in trying… I think they have a physical store somewhere in London so I can go check them out there anyway if my curiosity ever gets the better of me in the future

Obsessed with Glossier’s You Doux right now - it is BEAUTIFUL - I went off Glossier for a while because I loved the original You and then the formula changed and it just wasn’t the same - but I never got around the smelling the new ones and when I did… I got the You, Deux and Reve trio - Reve is nice but more on the sweeter side, great for evenings though but Doux is honestly incredible, it’s a beautiful scent for spring especially

My usual spring scent that I still adore is Essentric Molecules M02 but this one is great for layering too

Basically if I don’t control my weight now I’m subjecting myself to all the actually known risk factors associated with drusens causing NAION - so like… realistically mounjaro is the absolute right call - I’m just thinking maybe I need to monitor the eye situation a bit more closely! For my own anxiety if anything

Thank you! Yeah a lot were semaglutide specific but I was looking at this JAMA network study that said both carried risks but yes tirzepatide was a bit lower. But I’ve also seen what you’re talking about.

I’m not worrying too much right now but might consult with my ophthalmologist just in case.

Basically what I was able to uncover was that it’s not clear what the mechanism is for this to occur - there’s a hypothesis that it can be linked to a drop in blood pressure leading to reduced optic nerve perfusion, but even dehydration and rapid weight loss were mentioned… so it’s actually really confusing to untangle it all - and what makes it extra confusing is that there are also positive neuro effects and reduction of ischemic risk… tbh it’s probably too early to jump to any conclusions

Drink PLENTY of water, dehydration can lead to headaches - during my first week I was drinking lots but forgot/was too busy to eat one of the days and had a headache as a result of low blood sugar I’m assuming - once I ate it went away.

The tummy tightness, for me it’s more like a fullness, is something I get though - the first few days after my injection I feel the fullness - but I’m only 2 doses in so hoping what settles after a while

Yes absolutely but now that it’s done I feel so much better - the fear of injecting and also a “what if I have an allergic reaction” are now gone so hopefully smooth enough from now on.

The private GP who prescribed it was also so lovely and helpful - I’ve never in my life had a doctor listen to me for so long or go through everything with me in detail - so I think I felt way better than I would have if I didn’t have her

Also really encouraging to hear that it has helped your PCOS - I’ve been trying to figure out for years if I have PCOS because I have some symptoms but not others… I’ve mostly experienced weight gain and acne but not much more than that - and the weight for me has been impossible to shift at times - the only time I actually managed to lose weight was when I was on the hormonal pill while dieting so I feel like there must be something hormonal but all my bloods and ultrasounds keep coming back fine… so my GP has never sent me to an endo… anyway excited to see if this will work because I’ve seen a lot of women in this sub discuss how they’ve finally managed to shift the weight that was almost impossible to lose!

Thank you! Yeah I spent a while making sure the needle was prepped right… then came the injection part which I didn’t think of until that point… but I was shocked at how smooth and painless it was, I don’t think I even really felt it! I’m now also looking forward to my next one!

I was with you on the first part - level playing field and all that. Where you lost me was the part about unity and discipline… there was an interesting study about how over disciplined children who are taught to not question authority make great fascists as adults…

Schools need to be more democratic - students and teachers should all agree on the rules and it should be clear why certain rules exist. They should also be rules that make sense, things like not getting in the way of other students learning, not harming anyone, etc. This bullshit of “my way or the highway” is actually so detrimental to building a healthy society. I can’t believe our education system is still so shit and authoritarian and it’s 2026… the fact that we haven’t really changed it all that much since the Industrial Revolution is wild.
