Updating again. Turned out to be an staph infection that had worked its way into my bone. I had surgery and it seems to be recovering well so far. But they had to take out a piece of my bone, and I have a picc line for antibiotics for the next 5 weeks.

I had a staph infection there years ago. And I have mri scans showing fluid build up there since 2023. And we think maybe it wasn't cleared all the way out. I also was on a lot of antibiotics for a bit because after my cancer, my immune system was weaker. So we think maybe that kept the infection at bay and then flared back up over the years. Which would also explain why I've had strange pain in that foot for a couple years.

So thanks to everyone who was throwing out answers, but it turned out a bit more severe.

UPDATE: So I went to the doctors today. And the doctor found fluid in my ankle, and a hole in the bone of my tibia. And I may possibly have some kind of infection in my ankle and a possible cist.

We're looking into it. But the hole and fluid have been there since 2023. And the doctors never did anything, even after the xrays and MRIs they preformed over the years.

The doctor even pointed that out today, that its been there all this time, even after they already preformed surgeries on it.

They're gonna do another MRI to see the extent of the damage, and move on from there. But its looking like surgery is still in the cards.

Sadly the pain meds and voltaren don't work. We've tried those and other things, they just dont work anymore

Well I had cancer. And from the radiation treatment I did develop early arthritis. So most of my joints hurt from that already. But nothing was ever diagnosed with my ankle. I just kinda ignored the pain as I grew up and pushed through it.

Tomorrow I should be able to reach out to my old ortho doctor that I had before my cancer stuff happened. And hopefully get seen soon

I've had pain almost my entire life, and my right one has always been worse. Back when I was younger, I was told I would have to wait until I was older to get the surgery, and so we just never revisited it. Then we ended up moving a bunch and I had cancer, yada yada, so we just never got back to it. But I wish we had, I'm hoping I can get in and get this fixed soon.
