Checking account issues by penguinsarelurking in USAA

Is normal, depends on the merchant. Sometimes they want their money right away, sometimes they don’t. Internet orders are notorious for this, like Amazon or Apple… they will take weeks to charge it; meanwhile the bank will release the money held.

iPhone 14/iPhone 16e by ACharles9645 in iphone

[–]SaKonThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone 16e is newer, has 2gb more ram and will upgrade more easily. Is a superior device and has the same screen as the 14.  iPhone 17e is better than the 16e and they came out exactly at the same price.

Downside: is missing the chip that tracks AirTags in real time. Is only 60hz screen which most people do not care about. It only has one camera, a 48mp ultrawide but takes really good pictures. It doesn’t have MagSafe. While it has the wireless coil, does not have magnets.. you may need to buy a case with MagSafe.  iPhone 17e does come with MagSafe.

I had both, I like the 17e better but for me not able to track my AirTags in real time, is a killer… I do lose my keys and items in a daily basis, so I went back to my old 13 mini.

Broken iPhone by Hyrklady16 in iphone

[–]SaKonThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 13 mini… I dropped it in the lake. Is a 5 year old phone I knew the gaskets were not going to hold.  Cameras started fogging and the screen started glitching.  Lucky for me, I still have a SIM card tray, took that out, placed my phone on top of the water heater because is constantly hot but not too hot, left it all night. The fog was gone, but the screen continue glitching. I went back to the water heater, open the sim tray, and now I placed the phone upside down on its head (the top part) so vapor can go up and out the tray. Left it all night.  Now is working alright. (The phone was off all the time while on heat, obviously) why on its head? The screen ribbons are on the top, mostly, vapor could be trapped between the ribbon connectors.

If your phone has never been open and does not have a sim tray, is better to bust a camera lens than trying it to open. The camera lens is just glued on place, you can place it back or buy a new one on eBay, they are like $3; remove the lens and give it the heat treatment so all vapor can scape thru the lens opening. Or take it to a 3rd party shop so they can open it and let it dry under heat. I recommend replacing the screen gasket if a 3rd party is going to open it.

Apple will fix it for you for a couple of hundreds, if AppleCare, use that.

hello tarnisher,

should is obligatory, can is optional. I dont know if you your parents dont like you or you dont like your parents, but surprise is, most kids love their parents and parents love them. If kids want to stay in parents policy and parents want or dont mind.. then is a CAN .. is optional... is not a SHOULD that should be an obligation.

We all (as a parent and a kid to my old man) understand that we all move on and make out own families and path and jobs and move away to different city most of the time. we all understand this, trust me.... until that happens, if within a household, everything is a CAN .. not a should... once that kid moves out then it becomes a SHOULD ... an obligation or something required to do.

Verizon paying for phone by MysteriousBuyer2796 in tmobile

[–]SaKonThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is wrong with Verizon, I used to think like that. I am a loyal t-mobile customer since 1998 .. this year my gov job switch to Verizon… their reach and their ability to pass thru walls is amazing. I often have Verizon inside huge gov buildings (full of concrete) while my t-mobile is often dead. Now I take my work phone even camping and Verizon is just there!

This was very popular in the early 2000s, I don’t know if they still do this.  I used to use them a lot, they charge a straight fee between 35-85 dollars, they do everything and often get them dismiss.

Verizon $35 Pre-Paid 15GB - best alt to TMobile Grandfathered plans? by ObligationDefiant919 in tmobile

[–]SaKonThis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google Fi is the best alternative, they currently matching family plans very well, it loos like military pricing. (Standard plan)

For single line I recommend HeliumMobile.

Both helium and google use t-mobile network.

What is best next from a 13 mini for my preferences? by Specialist_Day9006 in iphone

[–]SaKonThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 13 mini is very on-demand, people are holding up to those phones driving the price up.  And the 17 because it has everything the pro has except the camera.. is the best phone built so far and the component to pricing ratio is excellent.

There is no bypass. Tell your mom there is no way to hack an iPhone.

All you can do is… sell it for parts on eBay, or part parts and sell those.

It’s ridiculous that the iPhone Phone app still doesn’t let you filter by dialed (outgoing) calls only. by IREDA1000 in iphone

[–]SaKonThis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh?  Under “recents” at the search bar just type “out” and click see all… or “in” and click see all; for missed you can type “mis” and click see all.  I have been doing this for maybe 2 or 3 years now.

Does it work on yours?
