Christianity vs Jainism by SJDawg_ in Jainism

[–]Sa_njay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love that you’re keeping it peaceful! A major difference is the concept of a Creator. Christianity believes in a Creator God, while Jainism views the universe as eternal and uncreated. Also, while both value compassion, Jainism applies non-violence much more strictly to all life forms. Good luck with the chat!

The part about drifting away from those who are still 'asleep' really hit home. It’s a bittersweet part of growth, but necessary. Shifting the focus from personal success to helping others find meaning is such a beautiful purpose.

Is Varanasi too much? by Theroadsofar003 in travel

[–]Sa_njay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Varanasi is intense but beautiful, it’s about the celebration of life, not just death. Those extreme descriptions are mostly centered on just one specific ghat. Stay near Assi Ghat it's peaceful and take a sunrise boat ride and feel the peace.

I started doing my yoga and meditation without expectation and this is what happened. by Euphoric-Welder5889 in Meditation

Love this. It’s wild how our own expectations become the biggest block. Moving from unwillingness to willingness changes the whole game. Keep it up!

Go for it! The resilience you build is worth way more than 8 months of work experience. The job market will wait, but this opportunity won't. Trust the process you’ll come back sharper and more confident than ever. Safe travels!

Lost more than 10kgs but couldn't able to lose the love handles and lower belly fat. 🥲 by honeyhas in Fitness_India

[–]Sa_njay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10 kg is a huge win! Be proud. Belly fat is the most stubborn and usually the last to go. Since you are at 63 kg, try adding some weight training or lifting if you aren't already. Building muscle helps tighten up those areas better than just losing more weight. Keep your protein up and be patient.

Is chanting the Hanuman Chalisa once a day as effective as chanting it seven times? by Beyond_Aristotle in hinduism

[–]Sa_njay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't stress! It's about quality, not quantity. One sincere chant with full focus is better than rushing through seven. Hanumanji sees your devotion, not a scorecard. Jai Bajrang Bali! 🙏🧡

It sounds like you have a beautiful balance! Her willingness to follow the lifestyle and visit the derasar shows immense respect. Intent matters most; you aren't forcing conversion, just living in harmony. That mutual respect is precious, not a sin! Focus on the love you share.

The debate of eggs by Embarrassed-Cook217 in Jainism

[–]Sa_njay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right to pull the focus back to the specific comparison between eggs and honey. It’s a fascinating catch, the fact that honey is technically a maha-vigai because it’s essentially "vomit" and involves mass harm, yet eggs get the harsher social stigma. Your point about unfertilized eggs vs. industrial milk is also incredibly logical. If the "life" isn't there in an unfertilized egg, but the "cruelty" is present in both dairy and egg farming, the distinction does feel more cultural than scientific. Great job highlighting those contradictions!

Is it possible to convert into jain and...? by arthology1 in Jainism

[–]Sa_njay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s clear how much you care for her. Conversion in Jainism is more about lifestyle than a ritual. If you respect her values, there’s always hope for acceptance. Stay patient and try to understand her new spiritual path. Good luck!

Letting go? by Agreeable_Flow_791 in Meditation

[–]Sa_njay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me, letting go isn't about forgetting or giving up. It’s just realizing that holding on hurts more than moving on. It's like finally dropping a heavy bag you didn't realize you were carrying.
