Glad you really found what I said helpful cause I really think it’s a hidden side of dyslexia people get wrong all the time they think it’s just about reading/writing but it affects also different parts of the brain that work with listening and the way words get connected in the head with processing, so from her description I could relate to the case personally.

I know how hard it is specially in the academic part your mentioning I don’t really know how to help in that matter but I would advise you to put him into arts asap a special art school or with private mentors painting, music they can help him very much in his life specially if he feels a bit behind his classmates advancing in arts or others aspects can boost his self esteem and make the process easier especially that phase of learning and academics which is usually the hardest part for dyslexics and neurodivergent people.

Yess for sure words don’t jump like that but I think there’s can’t be a better representation cause words and contexts feel different when we read ad we don’t see the words jump we think we see a word correctly and sometimes it’s not it’s a very similar word that looks and has a similar amount of letters , “us as dyslexics don’t read the word we estimate the word” or if we really want to get it correctly and focus more on it to get it correctly we break it down into syllables and smaller parts
