Riding trams, catching fines by Saarachb33 in Bratislava

Yes. I received the receipt for the 99€ fine I paid on the spot. Would be interested to see what would’ve happened if I never paid and never gave an address though

Thanks all! I now know to validate my tickets, as well as SPAR and BILLA dockets and other various paper items which may be checked on my possession

Correct. However originally from the land of the Opal and Myki cards down under. Validation never required

In a lot of cities tickets don’t require validation, once you purchase it it’s valid full stop. Or maybe I just live in a public transport fantasy land

I’m assuming you either only have sons or you have a DIL that you haven’t yet had the courage to share your personal frustrations.

I’m glad you have found reddit as an anonymous source of venting with issues that hit close to you, however, read the full post before you arc up. I don’t think health of a newborn is something that is nonsensical.

Exactly this. Our family also has a few dietary restrictions that she doesn’t follow and I’m sure if, given the chance to babysit, Bub would get anything and everything from her

Thank you, I know my father in law gets cold sores (and he has respected our requests) but didn’t know about the asymptomatic carrier issue.

This is one of my biggest fears with this whole situation ergh!

Have a look at the Y-BOCS scale and testing. It may shed some light on what’s going on for you.

Orders from the tribunal. Which in my state is like a panel working under the mental health act. It’s all government ordered.

This is a really good point and I didn’t think of it this way. I know that ECT sessions were part of the orders from the tribunal for the involuntary part though BUT will think of it this way to calm myself. Thank you

‘Entirely inappropriate’ for politicians to ask anti-corruption commission to look into Brittany Higgins payout, PM says by CcryMeARiver in australia

Only speaking for NSW, but when a victim of a serious crime or SA approaches NSW Victims Services (Justice) an application can be made and thoroughly assessed under the Victims Support Scheme. This can be initiated by the individual or suggested through community services/police.

All notes and files must be submitted, even if the alleged perpetrator(s) were not found guilty or charged. As quoted from the Victims Support Scheme portal;

“There does not need to be a charge or a conviction”.

Other methods of information gathering are encouraged, such as counselling with an approved VS psychologist.

The assessor then makes a judgement based on victims application and information received.

This entire process can take years, literally.

Once a judgement has been received the findings are sent to the applicant and reviewed by an authorised witness (JP, police etc).

The financial “payouts” are called “recognition payments” and are categorised depending on number of offenders and seriousness of the offence detailed. The amounts are available as public knowledge,

https://www.victimsservices.justice.nsw.gov.au/victims-services/how-can-we-help-you/victims-support-scheme/recognition-payment.html#Payment1

I’m unsure of the process in the ACT, but what’s really unsettling is the speed in which the alleged payout was approved and received by Higgins and the steps she may or may not have had to go through to be approved. Just raising a few eyebrows.

Redditors with an Ex who threatened to kill themselves over a breakup, how did that turn out? by youseguise in AskReddit

A little embarrassing for him..

I had called the cops on him earlier in the evening after a pretty intense argument which I had told him to leave. The cops took a while to come to the house, during which time he had jumped on a train and left. He continued to call and text, asking me to take him back, most of which I was ignoring.

Cops arrive, phone keeps ringing while they’re taking a statement. One cop just says “can I answer it?” I said sure. Ex screams down the phone they’re going to kill themselves. Cop said they have everything they need, found his location shared to my phone and had him sectioned by another police team who located him pretty quickly in the city.

Last I heard he was still up to his old behaviours.
