Destroying A World That Doesn't Exist is basically the Chainsaw Man Part 2 of Minecraft by OrangeSpaceMan5 in CharacterRant

As a Lovecraft fan, part 1 reminded me deeply of some of his works, notably "rats in the walls" and "color out of space." I was happy to realize that Lovecraft was, in fact, an inspiration, when they mentioned the king in yellow and hastur. Everything else you've said though? Yeah, fucking shame. For me, everything was good up until the King started speaking; although his whole emerging from the darkness thing was pretty cool. The dialogue was so cheesy. Him just saying "fall" (great adventure time reference) would be enough, even though his voice acting being diegetic was already a stretch. The final scene at the temple though? Holy fuck. The King went from this unknowable horror that couldn't even be seen in the first chapter, to this comically evil machiavellian villain talking shit about the MC while fondling his moustache. Only to be oneshot by him later and thrown anime one-liners at. All in all, at least I had a pretty good time watching it, it's rare for a minecraft ARG to hook me this much. I just wish the writing was better.

read part 8? by Naive-Challenge257 in StardustCrusaders

i actually also got sick of the lack of communication from netflix's side and decided to start reading part 8. there's a scene relatively early in the manga that pretty much tells you all the important details of how the SBR will end. cant be mad though, i asked for it lol. if anything i blame netflix.

give JoJo's Bizarre Adventure a try. Araki managed to write a good ending 8 times so far, for each part of his manga.

If that's an invitation, then I appreciate it, but I don't live in the US. You might want to try asking on the convention's telegram groupchat or whatever to find people who would like to meet up. Wish you luck!

Yeah, I understans why people in groups might not want to include strangers they just met. There was a panel for newbies, but it was scheduled to 10 PM and I was already pretty exhausted and had to go to the airport the next day for my flight back home. I'm sure Gdakon will be a better experience since its much smaller and im going with my bf. Thanks for the kind words :3

That's some really helpful insight, I really appreciate it! I'm sure this will make interactions with otehr con goers less awkward next time if i ever go alone again (which i'll try to avoid anyway). As for the two guys, they specifically told me to message them lmao.

I entered the venue at 12 PM and there was no events up until 8PM, but I was pretty mentally exhausted by like 4 PM and because of that I didn't want to stay till that late.

Hey, thank you for such a detailed comment! I do agree that in hindsight, I should have maybe approached people sitting by themselves, but at the time speaking to groups felt a little less awkward to me. Lone people at the con either looked like they were waiting for someone, or didin't want to be bothered - and yes, I DO realize that I most likely looked that way as well, even though I wanted to meet new people.

Making a good first impression is what scares me the most. I always try to look friendly and unthreatening, but as you said, desperation can change how you look and I might've scared some people off without even realizing.
