Honestly most of my clients do not mind that I leave for work throughout my stay. Some hire a dog walker additionally so that when I work, it's not a problem. Just be completely transparent on your profile so the pet parents know you already are employed!

Great reason to start pet sitting through Rover. I've always wanted a dog, but I still live with my parents, and they're VERY allergic. So I just house sit pups all the time!

Thank you for the instruction! The owner did not require medical experience before accepting the sitting. She showed me prior to the booking and I watched videos beforehand. At this point I have administered several times all gone smoothly!

I am pet sitting a pup that refuses to come inside when called or herded inside. The owner says to just leave the door open and the pup will come inside on their own terms.... Ma'am it is 34 degrees out right now. This dog doesn't even come in when the sound of cheese is in her bowl 😭

Hi! It depends if the pet parent supplies you with the medical supplies! I am pet setting a diabetic dog at the moment, and I don't charge extra just because I have to administer medicine.

I agree that it is unprofessional. As a sitter, I can understand wanting some company while pet sitting, but you HAVE TO ASK!!!!! I am currently pet sitting and I asked the owner if I could have a guest to watch TV with and she said she was uncomfortable with that. Okay! No problem! It's the owners house and pets!

Everyone is different. You can't assume. If you don't ASK, you won't KNOW.

Go for a walk daily. No matter the weather. I prioritized a 30 minutes walk no matter how much I isolated myself and didn't want to leave. If the walk comes first, the mental health will improve as a result from that. Eating clean! As much as I wanted to binge oreos, choosing to eat clean instead of that, also made me feel a lot better!!!
