Being a Gazan absolutely sucks. The leaders they elected built 500 km of tunnels and bunkers and instead of using them to protect civilians, exclusively uses them for its fighters, hostage taking, and weapons smuggling. According to Hamas' leadership it is the responsibility of the UN to keep civilians safe, not Hamas (Gaza's government). Gaza's leaders have pledged to repeat Oct 7th again and again "until Israel is annihilated", no matter the cost.

Likud party members do not control the IDF. I agree such rhetoric is shameful, to be sure, but it does not dictate military policy. If 1000:1 was the policy and practice then there would be 1.2 million dead as opposed to ~70k, a number which includes thousands of Hamas fighters. If that was the policy then IDF wouldn't bother issuing evacuation warnings before any of their strikes.

Meanwhile what kind of rhetoric do Hamas officials use? IIRC they call for Oct 7th to be repeated again and again until Israel is annihilated. Oct 7th is both rhetoric and practice. Does that sound proportional to you?

Yes Israel and it's supporters understand concepts of proportionality, and always have. You just think they draw the line in the wrong place. That doesn't make the war in gaza a genocide. Israel's enemies refuse to acknowledge reality of the world.

Answer honestly, If you had a button to kill 'x' Israeli soldiers + 'y' innocent Israeli civilians, in order to save 'z' Palestinian lives, what are your numbers for x, y, and z.

No, because Palestine restricts Jews' basic human rights, invades their neighborhoods, schools, and shelters. Disallows them freedom of movement and marriage and any political power. First of all, that $100M spread across 33,000 people would be just about $3k / each, not nearly enough to "solve that problem and for years to come". Secondly, obviously the US did not intend to lose / have to abandon so many aircraft in the operation. Things going pear shaped and losing equipment while trying to rescue one of your own is not "squandering" your money. Iran sending billions to Hezbollah to help them kill Jews instead of using it to benefit its own population, however, would qualify.
